September 6, 2012 7:12 pm How could ANYONE like that 2010 pilot?!?! THEY MADE WONDER WOMAN INTO A COLD BLOODED VIGILATNE MURDERER!!! SHE FREAKING KILLED INNOCENT SECURITY GUARDS WHO WERE JUST PROTECTING SICK PEOPLE!!!Not to mention that half of that pilot was about her "identity" being in complex because she wanted to be a tv watching hipster at home with her cat.
May 4, 2012 2:51 am Art not are.
May 4, 2012 2:41 am I enjoyed the are greatly, but I admit the story and dialogue could have used a bit more for the first of five issues. IF this is supposed to set something up to impress us, then it needs to really pick it up from a perverted maintenance worker and dead police officers.
May 2, 2012 11:00 pm I thought about putting the axe to this one on the list also because issue 8 really didn't do anything for me besides battle pages...but wow I'm glad I didn't. This issue may be one of the best so far. This advanced everything and did it so fluently, and added great dialogue and depth to the side characters. This one really brings up the intensity and makes you want to know the next scene after the semi-cliffhanger.
April 27, 2012 3:45 pm The Dr. Arkham spread of him getting high while in New Orleans was great. Awesome set-in with Hex who has to bust him out of trouble again (and himself) next issue. Seriously though, how has Jonah Hex not just tied Arkham up and put him on a train back to Gotham? I just wish there was a better explanation of why Arkham is so insistent on staying with Hex.
April 24, 2012 5:12 pm It's also been confirmed that Weather Wizard will be coming in a few issues. There are already a few pics of his new design online.
April 23, 2012 3:30 pm *don't believe ASW has had a fill in* Sorry. Bad grammar.
April 23, 2012 2:52 pm I don't believe All-Star Western hasn't had a fill in yet either.
April 20, 2012 6:03 pm There was just WAY too much of it. When the quantity of that backlog is just generic descriptions to hype up the fighting (which didn't need it because the artwork itself was well done), then the whole writing has made it worse on that front. The characters were all nailed right with their speech and confrontations, but here was just so many panels with unnecessary corny commentary that it made the issue drag on in spots. I'm anxiously awaiting for number three, but only to see how the actual story and Phoenix unfolds. NOT for a space battle and more of Cyclops ranting.
April 19, 2012 11:33 pm Even though this issue was mainly dedicated to the full out carnage at the mutant's home base, this whole comic read like it was a WWE pay per view, with the back dialogue being read like a ring announcer. "The most expensive punch in history!" "They hear the punch all the way in Oakland!" "Fourth nose broken in the last eight minutes!" Geez...this sounds corny but those were all actual lines from the writing, and they all sound like they come from Jim Ross and Jerry Lawler. The art was good and I understand this issue was meant to build the tension and conflict, but I feel it didn't lead to anything and that it was just to dazzle. In the end, all it did was make us wonder what the actual progression will be. 3/5
