Why oh why could they not have kept the same artist from the Flashpoint mini?

The story, while good, was a bit jarring for me, since my first experience with these characters was the Flashpoint mini. Luckily, that’s a personal issue, and is no negative reflection on Jeff Lemire. I enjoyed the book story wise, and there is a cool juxtaposition of these crazy classic monster characters and technology, a bit of mystery of where the monsters they are fighting came from, and even the main teams own past. It’s only jarring to me because that was explained in the Flashpoint mini, and here it is in question again. It makes for a great first issue though if you can get past that, or have no prior experience with these characters.

The art though, is pretty dang rough. It’s hard to tell what is going on at times. A few action scenes fall with a resounding thud. They’ve got Jeff Lemire working with artists with two similar styles on this book and Animal Man, and neither really work for me.

I’ll by all means keep getting this for the time being. It’s overall solid, and I definitely want to at least finish out this arc.
