I’m behind on my books because of all these #1s. I thought this book looked ridiculous and just picked it up on a recommendation from my LCS. Now, in a world with no Hellboy, this might be something really special. In a world with Hellboy, this is sort of a too-on-the-nose Hellboy, in which Count Chocula, Frankenberry, Fruit Brute, Yummy Mummy, and BooBerry all work for SHIELD. So, points off for silly concept. Jeff Lemire, however, is super awesome amazing and makes the book work through sheer virtuosic execution. The art is a little sloppy, but fun.

    I too was recommended this book by my LCS and having a bit of extra change gave this tittle a shot. I agree with this review along with the ratings. I’m intregued and will be picking up #2.

    I didn’t care for this book either way. Why does Frankenstein exist in this universe? Yes I liked the art but I was not wooed in any way to like the characters, the story, etc. I could go on but why?
