I was really gunning for this book based upon the fun take on the characters from Lemire’s Flashpoint Frankenstein mini, but I can’t say that I found this new issue nearly as enjoyable. The characters felt very stock, Frank being a straightforward monster with a heart of gold, Griffin a bright eyed optomist, ect. And the inclusion of a Hit-Girl knock-off as the Shade leader was a well intentioned miss on Lemire’s part. The art was very passable at times, but seemed very sloppy in other places. I hope that this book finds its audience, but that is most definitely not me.
