I wasn’t too crazy about the first arc in this series, but this second one has been excellent. It really…

October 13, 2012 11:51 am Well every group of people has a handful who are under the impression that their opinions are gospel. Batman was my pick, but I'm not going to be a tool about it if someone picks something else just because 95% of the people agreed with me.
August 22, 2012 11:49 am Yeah I just read the end as well. I didn't get into the series until recently and caught up with the trades and single issues right before the release of issue 59. I'm not sure if I could have waited in suspense from month to month, honestly. Every issue was almost always intense as hell and ended with some crazy cliffhanger. Definitely one of the best long form series I have ever read. A very satisfying ending to a new flawless run.
July 3, 2012 4:10 pm I wonder if the cut off date was before series' like Saga and The Manhattan Projects began, because I definitely noticed their absence. Also noticed lack of Scalped or Scott Snyder series'. Kinda sucks, actually.
May 10, 2012 10:51 pm The pacing is a little slow at times and this is definitely a series that benefits from reading issues back to back. Single issues don't really stand on their own as much, but I love it. Sean Phillips is one of my favorite artists and the noir/ horror mash up is a lot of fun. The end of this arc was seriously creepy as shit, too. no spoilers, but damn.
April 26, 2012 2:01 am This series has become one of my favorite DC titles. I look forward to it every month. You can tell Johns really is having fun writing Arthur and making him relevant. And Reis' art is just gorgeous to look at. I would kill for a Reis pencilled JL series. Sorry, Jim.
April 26, 2012 1:58 am This was one of the worst comics I have read in a very long time. It was staggering how bad it was to me. That opening Q&A explaining the purpose of the book, the "fun facts" and what had to be some of the most banal dialogue and thought balloon captions I have ever laid eyes on were all ingredients that when mixed together simply made my face hurt. I thought this would be a fun diversion at best, a mediocre diversion at worst. Optimism, you fiend.
April 26, 2012 1:52 am I also read an interview with Scott about the next arc called "The Black List." Supposed to be the culmination of many things that began way back in issue 1 for characters like Pearl and Henry. It sounds amazing.
April 26, 2012 1:50 am Few books are as dependable quality wise as American Vampire. I know beyond question that every issue will be completely satisfying on every level.
April 18, 2012 10:48 pm I say read this issue. It was pretty brilliant. All 3 stories were outstanding, writing and art wise. And like they said, it's an anthology series so there is no continuity.
February 23, 2011 3:28 pm Absolute DC The New Frontier is one of the most gorgeous books I have on my shelf. The series was tailor made for the larger format Absolute Editions. The annotations at the end of the series is a lot of fun to read and a nice bonus feature.
