  1. finally! a comic that my wife insists i buy just so she can read it, too.
her seduction is almost complete. something, something DARK SIDE. blah, blah, blah COMPLETE!

    no more raphael? 🙁

    • I definitely know where you’re coming from

    • Raphael’s just out for this two-part story.

    • ahhh, thank goodness. 🙂

i know he’s rockin’ out with his cock out over on back-up batman, but i was hoping he could juggle both like how reis had a few pages in JL and this month’s aquaman is still him.
honestly, i’m happy enough that he’ll be back soon. not to take away from cruz, i just don’t who that is and i’ve grown very comfortable with raphael on this.

  2. It’s gonna be really hard to top the last arc for me. I absolutely loved it. Let’s see what ya got Scott. Blow my mind! I dare ya.

  3. Can’t wait, I love how cool this book is.

  4. This was a stellar issue, give this to anyone who hasn’t read the book yet. Will probably make pick of the week

  5. Great stuff. I think Roger Cruz did a wonderful job filling in on art. Combined with McCaig’s colors, there was a level of congruency with what Albuquerque does regularly, and it served the story well. The ending got a “NO WAY!” from me. I did not see it coming, and I love that!

Mr. Snyder, you are a tricky fellow, and never fail to surprise me. Thank You.

  6. Few books are as dependable quality wise as American Vampire. I know beyond question that every issue will be completely satisfying on every level.

  7. I also read an interview with Scott about the next arc called “The Black List.” Supposed to be the culmination of many things that began way back in issue 1 for characters like Pearl and Henry. It sounds amazing.

  8. Great, great issue. Snyder has such a wonderful knack for planting broad concepts through the protagonist’s narration in the first few pages and then bringing everything full circle by the end of the issue (the idea of “newness” here, the architecture of Gotham over on Batman, etc.). He does it so often that it’s practically expected nowadays, but that is by no means a bad thing, because it works every time.

  9. Good issue. I liked the twist with the veterans. Werewolves! Yay!

  10. so this was another outstanding issue. the only panel that didn’t sit well with me was the one with the garbage dumpster in the alley. this is supposed to be taking place in the 50’s and the dumpster had one of the lids with the plastic corrugated top. those tops didn’t exist in those days. it was a glaring mistake.

  11. You guys want to hear something crazy?

I read the first arc of this book – the 5 issues with Stephen king – as a trade and totally loved it.

On impulse I bought a ton of back issues all at once from my LCS, and over the last 3 or 4 months I’ve kept it up – so I have the complete run, including the mini-series now.

But this is the crazy part – I have not read them yet! Any of them.

I think i’ll wait one more month til this arc ends then sit down and have one massive Snyder Vampire-fest

  12. cruz is awesome. were-wolves are awesome. snyder is awesome. seeing bigots die is awesome. 50s theme is awesome. the fact that no one is freaking out over the usage of the “N” word is awesome.
    american vampire is AWESOME.

  13. Scott is amazing. His talent and adaptability of character to character (Sweet to Swampy to Bats) amazes me. Granted Comic-Dom is ripe with Archetypes that are re-over-hashed-used, but Scott changes the game up. You don’t even realize until after the story ends that you were played! That’s real talent! Keep it up!
