BATMAN #13
October 15, 2012 10:09 am Snyder truly seems to understand the Joker, something not many writers do understand...this was an absolutely brilliant book, and one of the best I've read in years. Kudos to all involved. On a side note, the little stories at the end are usually an irritant to me, but this one actually augmented the story--and gave the reader more insight into the characters. A rare treat indeed. Great job DC!

‘The Dark Knight Rises’
July 24, 2012 8:05 am OK, Batman's in a prison. He's been there for a long time and he escapes. He has nothing but the clothes on his back and he's in CHINA. How in the name of Stan Lee did he wind up back in Gotham to save the day? Bruce was BROKE, right? Just wondering if this annoyed anyone else...Loved the movie, though!

THE INCREDIBLE HULK #10
June 29, 2012 9:05 pm DItto here too. DIdn't like his Ghost Rider arc either...too "out there," and, in my mind, is disrespectful to a classic character.

AVENGERS VS. X-MEN #6 (OF 12)
June 21, 2012 8:46 am I am enjoying this series for the first time...I like the "Phoenix 5," and I like the big moral questions being bandied about: Is it OK for someone or a group to have infinite power if they're all doing the right things?, etc. Art is acceptable, and I'm finally interested in the story...

Great Moments in Comics History: The Avengers #18
May 11, 2012 10:02 am Apparently being a "ramrod" is a lot duller than I thought it would be. Huh.

BATMAN: THE DARK KNIGHT #8
April 27, 2012 7:09 am This is the weakest of the bat books...It has good art, but the writing seems to just take you from "surprise" to "surprise," which after awhile, is not surprising. All of the scenes look posed. On the bright side, it was nice to see the Tweed cousins again...

AVX: VS #1 (OF 6)
April 26, 2012 12:05 pm This isn't going to be everyone's cup of tea...I'm a big fan of character development and long, drawn-out stories, but I found this kind of nostalgic and fun...It reminded me of the Avengers vs. Defenders war and a couple of the Avengers annuals some years back when they fought "dead" villains and the West Coast Avengers....Yes, there's no character development, and the art (especially on the Namor/Thing fight) was so-so at best, but it was fun...and that's what comics are all about.

DAREDEVIL #10.1
April 5, 2012 8:47 am Waid writes well, and the art is great...but this issue was basically unnecessary. If you've been paying attention, this was already set up in the regular issues of Daredevil...
