I definitely thought with the #0 issue that was released prior to the start of the series and the mini's, that the undercover and origin stories had a lot more weight to them.  Though I wasn't thrilled about the first issue of the Origin mini, its good to hear such high praises for the start of the undercover mini, makes me a little more excited to hit the shop for an otherwise light week.

I'm just finishing up an audio editing/voice over class this quarter and one of our mid-term assignments was to re-write scripts for the classic PSA's and record new voices for the characters, which I think rekindled my love for the Joe's, so the relaunch came at the perfect time.  I just wonder when we're going to see the first appearance of Snowjob!

A new Powers trade!!  Its only been available for pre-order from Amazon for over a year, but at least its here right?

BQ:  Farva from Super Troopers, "I don't want a large farva. I want a goddamn litre o' cola!"

February 25, 2009 8:09 pm It is official, went to the shop today, Runaways was in my pull stack, and back on to the shelf it went.  No more I say.

I bought Lost Girls over a year ago, and have still only glanced through it.  Don't get me wrong, I love Alan Moore, but it just seems like so much of a commitment!

Just finished this issues this morning, I never read comics before I go to work, but I'm definitely willing to be a couple minutes late, because I could not put this issue down.  I never got a chance to see what the PTW was last night, so I just hopped online and and low and behold.  Excellent pick Conor.

The Walking Dead was pretty fucking good too this week.

As far as Western's go, I highly recommend The Lone Ranger from Dynamite, granted the shipping schedule has been a little shakey lately, but the first two arcs have already been collected and I think its a pretty superb piece of work.  As far as Ennis' Streets of Glory from Avatar, eh....I thought it was kind of a throw away story until the last issue, but thats just my opinion.

January 26, 2009 9:42 pm This book could be on the chopping block for me, I mean I love Terry Moore, but I just don't think I care anymore about any of these characters.  I think I need to re-read the BKV run and see if its really worth it to continue.  I do agree though, beautiful cover.

This has to be a first for me since I've been back on the comics wagon.

No books this week.  Not one.  Not even a trade.  Nothing.  Not even a book I only half look forward to reading. (I apprehensively eye the stack of about 20 trades behind me on the shelf.)  Time to get to work.

BQ: Working out on the Wii Fit while in heated battle with a stomach virus.

I have this week off of work, so between yard projects and finishing up school work before my quarter ends, I've been tackling some books from my shelves.  For first time reads last night I read the first two volumes of the Queen & Country Declassified series and was not disappointed.  I'm really missing that book right now.  After I finished those I started to re-read Jason Aaron and Cameron Stewart's The Other Side TPB, I think it seems a little scarier the second time around, but oh so good.

My comic shop is having a Black Friday sale this weekend with everything that isn't a new release 50% off from 4:00-5:00 for preferred customers, so it looks like I'm finally going to get beyond volume 2 of Fables and probably finish off a few other series that I've been lagging behind on.
