@flaggthecat - I'm with you on this one, I'm a Portnoy's Complaint man myself.

My comic budget went through the roof in August (Damn you Daredevil Omnibus!!), so its nice to see a light week where I can enjoy catching up on some trades.  Only three for me this week so I'll probably skip the shop altogether, but if my store still has it next week I'll probably pick up The Roberts, they talked about it on Around Comics last week and it does sound pretty interesting.

Detective Comics #848 - So this is twice that I've jumped onto Detective during cross-overs, the first time being the 'Blahs' Al Ghul Resurrection, and I'm still not sure why I'm reading this.  Tell me it gets better, tell me!!

Invincible Iron Man #5 - Still steadily entertaining.

The Boys #22 - Probably looking forward to this the most this week.

BQ: Nursed a long weekend's worth of hangovers by eating leftover cookout food, watching Crumb and Unforgiven, and listening to some slow music (Beth Gibbons, JAMC's Stoned and Dethroned, Galaxie 500, There Will Be Blood OST).  Not all at once of course.

Did anyone else have a problem with the Kingpin being beheaded by the swing of a shotgun?  Seriously?!  Did it have a sharpened edge?  Was his neck made of jelly?  Other than that I thought it was a fun issue, 4/5 stars.

August 25, 2008 6:02 pm Oh yeah, didn't see Pax Romana on the new comics list anywhere?

Black Panther #40 - Just picked up #39 last week, but still haven't read it yet, but after the Joker's Asylum issue and my love of Scalped, I figure if he's writing it than I'm reading it, except for Ghost Rider, I can't go that far.

Daredevil #110 - Don't go Mr. Rucka!!

Kick Ass #4 - The only thing I remember about the last issue was the f___ed up iFanboy podcast review of it.

Northlanders #9 - After a reread of the first arc, I'm really looking forward to see where the next phase takes us.

Proof #11 - Still getting better...

Runaways 3 #1 - Love Terry Moore, wasn't that psyched about Whedon's last run, and I am a little concernced about the art on the new series.

Wolverine #68 - After strong deliberation, I picked up 66 and 67, and freakin' loved them!

Daredevil Omnibus Vol.1 by Bendis - Mr. Paypal, I'd like you to meet Mr. Instocktrades.

BQ: I've had a beard for about three years now, and I've been debating shaving it off, but part of me fears that I'll uncover a second chin that I didn't know I had (Its been so long since I've seen my whole face!!).  So out of fear, I'm keeping the beard.  Bring it back Josh, bring it back.

Scalpled #20

Captain America #41

Killer #8

Marvel 1985 #4

BQ: Mike Seaver from Growing Pains, hands down.  Anyone remember the episode where he refused to have sex with the Madonna look alike.  I believe that was a hint at what Kirk Cameron's broadcasting career had in its future.

August 14, 2008 4:52 pm Does anyone know if they're planning on putting the three Q&C Declassified volumes into one of the Definitive Editions?

Batman #679

Lone Ranger #12

Secret Invasion #5

Transhuman #3

Walking Dead #51

Probably looking forward to Walking Dead and Batman the most.  Had to let go of Zorro, just couldn't do it anymore.  Secret Invasion could be following it though...

BQ:  I don't really watch the Olympics, but if I was forced to, I'd probably watch men's basketball.

Daredevil #109 - Really enjoying the Brubaker and Rucka reunion.  Maybe I'll re-read some Gotham Central before my second viewing of TDK?

Proof #10 - Each issue keeps getting better and better.  Loved last issue's GQ for Sasquatch's.

Black Summer #7 - I have no idea whats going on in this book anymore.  But I am excited to see how it ends, this is the last issue isn't it?  Hope so, need to start trimming down the pull list.

War Heroes #1 - Just as one series leaves the list, another pops on.  Funny how that works.  Not all too familiar with Millar, other than Wanted, and Kick Ass, but I did just pick up the first three issues of 1985 and thought they were pretty fun.  So we'll see.

BQ: Lemonade and an expensive electric bill.
