May 15, 2012 3:55 pm I remember being really excited for Johns' Teen Titans to start & then being told there was that Graduation Day crossover that ran into the first issue of his series. Going around the city to find those 3 issues was a bitch - but worth it. Actually, if I remember correctly the 3rd issue was easy to find & the only way I found the first two issues in that mini was a combo double issue they put out. Oh, memories......
April 2, 2012 7:03 am I'm in!!! Already own all 6 tpb's, but will collect these as well. Do not feel slighted in the least on double dipping on such a great come. For the amount of entertainment this series has already brought me, I'd probably buy all 6 of these upcoming colour'ized versions, then plunk down another $200 for the a "deluxe" omnibus - - should it ever see the light of day. SP can do no wrong. I owe thee!!!!!!!!!!!!!
March 14, 2012 2:21 am I'd love to think this is the same format & size of the deluxe HC to match my Young Avengers I already own. But I can only assume Marvel will do a double-dip on this & release the deluxe sized HC at Christmas or next year some time. Whatever......I've waited this long to read the sequel. What's a few more months?
March 14, 2012 2:11 am @MrGlass - you're right about the Wildstorm stories being added to this collection. However, Killing Joke was & has always been included - hence why Bolland did the cover for the older tpb
March 14, 2012 2:04 am I got the HC that was released 6-7 years ago. Still looks great and has held up well.....despite having a silly jacket cover that was has a poorly designed cut in half thing going on. For those looking for a great HC version of this book, get the same one I got. You can still find lots at some fair prices. http://www.alibris.com/booksearch.detail?invid=11184719929&isbn=9781401206901&qsort=&page=1
December 26, 2011 4:54 pm Girlfriend got me Ex Machina deluxe hc Vol. 3 (now I'm one step closer to finish collecting that great series) & she got me Vol. 4 of Gotham Central - so that's finally completed in my collection. But the best things I got, also from her, was a Mitchell & Ness Philadelphia Flyers hoodie - not cheap in any way. Hockey and comics, how could Christmas get any better???
December 15, 2011 3:07 pm I didn't realize Batman: Dark Victory was coming out next year. Nice! I already have Long Halloween so I guess I'm hooked in for the sequel - even though I already own them in trade format. I use to buy every Absolute I could get my hands on (I have 12 in total), but I've fallen behind the last few years. Still need both Planetary volumes, V for Vendetta, & All-Star Superman. It would be nice if they put both Authority volumes back in print too. It's just so hard to justify spending a heavy amount of $ on things I already own in other formats. Make that doubly hard when your list of things you don't own and haven't read at all, keeps growing and growing - - I see you Bone 20th anniversary full color one volume edition. Soon.... Richard Stark's Parker: The Martini Edition?!? Oh great......*shakes fist in air*
December 5, 2011 3:18 pm annnnnd another screen shot from Battling Boy. Sorry, couldn't help it. http://www.flickr.com/photos/ernestborg9/2955599650/
December 5, 2011 3:06 pm @jaflanagan - Josh I couldn't agree more. When I was watching your segment the first thing I thought of (and it's somewhat new - 2006) was Paul Pope's, Batman: Year 100. He is at least one of a few artist today that still uses this technique, and uses it very well. Maybe that explains (partially) why I think he art, and more specifically his action sequences, move with such fluidity. Here's even a newer screen capture of his as-yet to be released Battling Boy. Good to see he's still using this technique in his bag of tricks. http://firstsecondbooks.typepad.com/.a/6a00d8341d928653ef0148c6d4a2d0970c-pi
November 28, 2011 3:30 pm Yes!!!!! Always truly exciting when you read something in trade and the long wait is over. Double awesome when it's a series that is this killer-amazing.
