Wow i am shocked that this was my POTW i hope almost as the other 69 percent that made it that as well as of right now.

First off i have never ever read an Aquaman comic before and i never have had the desire and in all honesty ive always felt he was a lame ass character for whatever reason and i am mostly a Marvel guy. Ok now that i got that out of the way…

Before i got off work today to stop into my LCS on the way home to pick up my comics like i usually do i looked on here to check some of the comments people were giving. To my surprise i seen some of the positive reviews on this book so decided last minute to pick up a copy to see what all the talk was about and man im glad i did!

First off i would like to say that Geoff Johns out of all the comics ive read out of the relaunch so far has got the right idea of what the new 52 was aiming to accomplish. The dude just has it right, in this first issue including the JLA and Green Lantern issues he was able to make me laugh numerous times and at the same time incorporate some action but still get to the core of these characters and what they are all about or how the world percieves them. For some one that hasnt read any of those comics before i feel that he has done a great job of introduceing them to me in an enjoyable fashion.

For whatever reason which i felt was a smart one he chose to shed light on the obvious reasons people may not like this character yet at the same time probably dont know too much about him since he has gotten such a bad wrap over the years. I laughed my ass off at a couple of parts in this book including the hillarious restaurant scene.

Was this a clever way of tricking a person for whatever reason hates this character into enjoying this issue and becoming a fan? I think so and i fear at the same time for that reason after this first issue that i may just lose intrest for whatever reason unless this is going to turn into an ongoing joke. But if he is going to be able to work out a really good story to keep me coming back for more then i am fully on board and am so surprised to say that, but if it continues to be good how can i say no?!

Its so true I really didnt want to enjoy this because i felt this guy was lame and my pull list is way to large after this month of Dc and i will be a broke man from now on…. but i will be here for the second issue… i hate you Aquaman…. i hate you Geoff Johns…I hate you Dc
