some things I never thought I would say:

Holy Shit, Aquaman # 1 was awesome. Wow, Aquaman is a bad ass. You need to read Aquaman.

The art is just stunning, they do a great job with the action, and the faces are very expressive. The monsters in it are super creepy and well done. I don’t get the sense that they are evil, just like a force of nature. A hungry force of nature.

Like a shark. and you’re the prey. Nothing personal, but you’re getting eaten. i don’t hold malice towards cows, but they are getting eaten. it’s uncomfortable for the top of the food chain to be hunted.

The writing is just great. They way they have everyone making fun of Aquaman, asking him if he needs a glass of water or if he is going to talk to fish is awesome. The way he handles is with a quiet dignity and lets his action speak for him is awesome. It’s regal. You get that he is super strong and tough, and can leap great distances and you also get that he embodies the best traits of heroism. He’s noble and good, and defends those who need help.

This is a really good book. I never cared one bit about Aquaman before this, now I’m hooked. Ha! get it? hooked
