I was sceptical about the series ‘Venom’ before I read the first issue, I’d heard good things about Rick Remender’s…

November 7, 2011 4:45 pm I do really like this, I cant get over the feeling its a bit to similar to B.R.P.D, but there are just enough differences I cant let that go (for now). Aside from that this is everything I love about comics, what other form of entertainment could have Frakenstein and a bunch of other classic horror monsters fighting aliens on the moon and have it be absolutley awesome.
November 7, 2011 4:43 pm While I really enjoyed the past two issues, I kind of hope there's a bit of a rest in the middle where the protaginists start to be able to interact with each other a bit more. However if this doesn't happen I'm okay with it, whatever this book does I'm good with. I love Paul Cornell, he's british, wrote two of the best Doctor Who episodes of the new series, and got me to read Captain Britain. I have utter faith that when this arc is said and done I'll be raving about it.
November 7, 2011 4:39 pm I can't really get into the story, I know its solidly written, but without Greg Rucka I just feel like its missing a certain spark. I think he obviously had a really clear vision of where he wanted to take the character and I wanted to see his vision. However there is no chance of me dropping this book, the storys solid enough that I enjoy it annnnnnnd of course the art is beyond stunning, last issues fight in the bar was just jaw dropping.
November 7, 2011 5:17 am Yeaaaah, tbh, I adored this. I love the bubble boy, the scene with the guy choking on his own lung made me feel sick, but in a totally good way. I cant wait to see where this goes.
November 7, 2011 5:16 am Yeah, I think its easy to see Moore as overhyped, until you actually settle down and read the stuff....then you come to realise he deserves all the respect he's given (granted that is a lot). Still his Swamp Thing run was a work of trippy, horrorific genius, one of my absolute favourite runs in all of comics. Can't overstate just how good it is, if you haven't do read it. Its creepy, smart, wonderfully written, full of likeable characters, doesn't seem dated, and has some great retro art.
November 7, 2011 5:12 am No, me neither :/
November 5, 2011 5:55 pm I think the positivity is one of the reasons I love this site, so many internet websites are just a bunch of men sitting around bitching about stuff they hate. I'd much rather here people embracing their hobby, rather then condemming it constantly. Has anyone ever watched Linkara? If not its someone who posts videos on the web ripping apart the really bad comics. I think the guys funny and all, but it strikes me as a really poor way to promote the medium. Why put all that time and energy promoting the awful stuff? I know its just a joke, but you can do comedy about the good stuff to, it'd be harder, but it'd also help people check out some really good comics. Point I'm trying to make, I love Ifanboy because thats what the website does, listening to people talk about the comics their passionate about makes me feel more enthused with the art form. Listening to people bitch all day about bad comics just gets me tired.
November 5, 2011 8:05 am awww, I love M.O.D.O.G, I wish we celebrated halloween properly in England, all your costumes look so good.
November 5, 2011 8:02 am I never thought I'd find M.O.D.O.k adorable, but apparently I do.
November 3, 2011 7:17 am I do standup comedy as a little more then a hobby, hoping to at least break into the buisness a tiny bit. I'm a creative writer, not a very good one mind you, so its for more myself then anyone else. I just have fun doing it. I have an obession with all things Joss Whedon, annnnnnnd above all things (even comics) I love music, I spend all my free time hunting down new bands, and buying cheap CD's. I dont play an instrument as I have quite severe dyspraxia and could never be in time, but still finding a band I really enjoy is one of the best feelings in the world.
