I was sceptical about the series ‘Venom’ before I read the first issue, I’d heard good things about Rick Remender’s…

November 10, 2011 4:27 pm I want to read it, just a quick question is it a bit accesible, I mean I'll go trade hunting and try to catch up, but if i started reading at the first trade how much do you need to know about mutants and the X-men universe? The X corner is the one corner in comics I know sadly little about.
November 10, 2011 4:15 pm I really like this series, it never lights my world on fire, and when I think about what comics I'm excited for it seldom comes up, but every time I read it, it tells a really solid story, with very strong art and beats my expectaions just a little bit with each issue.
November 10, 2011 4:14 pm Alfred was great in this, yay for him giving the British a good name :D
November 10, 2011 4:13 pm I think he's new, I've never seen him mentioned before annnd I read an interview with Peter Tomasi where he said he wanted to create new villains, so I figure he's new.
November 10, 2011 4:10 pm He did kinda get poisoned and gagged by The Joker moments after though....not to taint your favourite moment.
November 10, 2011 4:06 pm The panel in Demon Knights made me gasp. A lot of stuff with Etrigan in this issue was pretty dark (no pun :P)...in a good way.
November 9, 2011 5:55 am To be honest, I think the writers of The Simpsons switched the focus to Homer at the end of season 2, Homer plays a pivotal role in most episodes from season 3 onwards. Having said that I do understand where your going with your analogy.
November 8, 2011 5:28 am Yeah, I could see this argument, but I think Greg Rucka had some special investment in the Batwoman character, I know some of his writing wasn't as tight, but I think he really cared for his creation, and that showed through. I know JH Williams does to, but it was nice when it was combined, that level of passion was clear in writing and art.
November 7, 2011 4:53 pm I never read this, heard a lot of people talk about how good it is. I think I'll wait unti the all 12 issues are released in an oversized collection or something...and if they never are then I wont be to sad I missed out on a good series that never had a satisfying ending.
November 7, 2011 4:48 pm I'm a bit sad there's someone else other Doug Mahnke doing the art, I hope it doesnt hinder the book. Other then that I'm enjoying this series, its nothing mind blowing, but as somone who was fine with Green Lantern before the reboot I dont mind a continuation of that story. Plus I always love seeing Hal and Sinestro together, they have dramatic chemistry thats for sure.
