Top 5: Films DC Should Do Next After ‘Man of Steel’
August 19, 2013 1:54 pm To be accompanied, of course, by a live-action Gotham Knights/Birds of Prey movie. Maybe even an entire Bat-verse without the man. The one unifying theme could be that he has a big job. And some covert and not-so-covert helpers, handlers and hangers-on. I'd keep a Powers/Gotham Central atmosphere too, with Gordon, Bullock and Montoya featured with the GCPD.

Top 5: Films DC Should Do Next After ‘Man of Steel’
August 19, 2013 1:43 pm I wonder if they could do a Gotham Knights-meets-tB&tB/Showcase-style show, with successive episodes about different, mostly street-level/real-world supporting characters and heroes from the BatTVverse. I'm thinking Nightwing, the Robins, Batwomen, Batgirls, Huntress, Canary, Katana, Green Arrow, Question. Each episode or arc could feature various characters or team-ups, written, directed and shot by various teams of creators. A series of vignettes, whether standalone episodes, sub-episodes, or arcs of multiple episodes, using the best of lessons learned from such recent cartoons as Young Justice, Batman: The Brave and the Bold and the Showcase Shorts, along with the "Our World" style seen in such recent live-action series as Arrow, SHIELD, Heroes, and, you'll forgive me, Birds of Prey.

‘Marvel’s Hulk and the Agents of S.M.A.S.H.’ – S01E03 – “Hulk-Busted”
August 19, 2013 1:26 pm My current Reason-To-Be-Mad-At-Marvel is that Netflix still only has Season 1 of Ultimate Spider-Man. Look, I started watching it, and it didn't suck as much as some of your other cartoons, so please can I just watch the rest of it now? I was hoping to look forward to watching this Hulk cartoon, and eventually not hating that new Avengers cartoons, but current buzz says I shouldn't expect greatness. I bought all of the Loeb-McGuinness Hulk stuff, and I didn't hate it. I love how Ed draws. And it was kind of fun to see Loeb go all Saturday Morning Cartoon across the whole boring soap-opera of cardboard retreads anyway. I'll take Big Bad Red Betty over another forty years of Cringing, Clingy, Cliche-Feminism-Du-Jour, Written-Boringly-By-A-Dude Betty. I have more action-figure type fun with Used-To-Be-Captain-Marvel Now-Badass-A-Bomb than I would with Perpetually-Penitent-Ex-Hippie-Once-Cool Puny Human Rick Jones. Wait a minute? Didn't you end the Kree-Skrull War by mentally evoking simulacra of the Invaders? Yeah, you get to Level-Up.

August 19, 2013 1:11 pm That is a darn fine, TO-READ pile right there. I have a question about these DC Comics Presents series of #1s we keep seeing. Were they ever collected? If so, how and where? C'mon you DC completists, do I have to scour the back-issue bins for these?
