Name: jeff waesch

Bio: After a long hiatus away from comics while at college, I became seriously interested again in late 2007.  I have always been more interested in the underground, experimental, and/or literary comix, but then I rediscovered image and dark horse and am  now much more engulfed in more popular comics (though I still prefer comics that are challenging/unique from any publisher) .  I definitely prefer creator owned books, but I have a few pulls here and there from "The Big Two".  I guess you could say Image and Dark Horse are my personal 'big two' though.

True to common form, this was a very solid single issue story of Yusagi Yojimbo. Usagi finds himself helping a…

March 27, 2012 3:09 am Two weeks ago, at my shop, thinking Choker #6 would never see the light of day, I asked the owner to take issue issue #5 out of my pull bag(I hadn't picked it up, as I was waiting for #6). So crazy that two weeks after I had completely given up on this title finishing, here we are with #6! Now I'll go back and scrounge up my #1-4 and read it in a good sitting. All that said, I really wish I had just waited for the trade.
March 2, 2012 10:15 pm "Robo Shark" and "Naked" remind me of, and make me think of what I want the future to look like; equal parts.
March 2, 2012 10:09 pm Having very recently broken up from a four year relationship with 'a super hot quirky girlfriend'; the relationship coming about the same time i was rediscovering comics, I can simultaneously agree and disagree with your 'never going to happen' statement. I've been putting off trying this series mostly because of the over-the-top nerdy fantasy ideal called into question here, but now more than ever, I think I might actually try this series out!
February 23, 2012 12:01 am This is the single issue that will get me to my LCS tomorrow at lunch. I have other pulls this week, but this is the kick in the pants!
February 22, 2012 11:58 pm Have to ask my LCS to order this as well. Been looking forward to it!
February 22, 2012 11:53 pm Try The Bulletproof Coffin. There's one TP and two issues into a new mini. Its great, fantastic, boundary pushing, yet classic feeling stuff!
February 8, 2012 7:24 pm I stopped reading this review as soon as I scrolled down to that first preview page. WOW! Do I even need to read on? Probably not, but I will continue reading Josh's praise!
December 27, 2011 2:03 pm I believe I'll be picking up 6-8 when I get to my LCS tomorrow. I read Vol.1 tpb last month and have been itching for more!
December 26, 2011 3:06 pm Beasts! vol. 1 and vol. 2. Not comics or a graphic novel, but they are a great collection featuring illustrators, and comic artists interpreting mythological creatures and cryptozoology. Its great stuff from fantagraphics released a few years ago. for my girlfriend I got her a Thor Mighty Muggs!
December 19, 2011 9:22 pm the cover is sweet! I get this in TPB, but i might pick this one up. It would be cool if they used this as the cover for the TPB or at least something similar with these design/color elements
