Name: Jay Shimamoto

Bio: I live in Los Angeles, CA.  I work in a library but am not a librarian yet.  I'm getting my Masters in library science.  At my library, I have a graphic novel group for the after-school kids.  We usually alternate between manga and superhero comics, but because of my school schedule, we're only doing manga for the rest of this school year.I'm a long-time DC fan but do buy Marvel books and the only indys I pick up are Invincible (in trade) and Dynamo 5 (monthly).

Fables for the last year looks like it’s been ambling along, not going anywhere in particular.  With this issue, all…

My favorite story with the Sentry was early in Bendis’ run on New Avengers.  Ever since then, he has been…

This is the issue where it all makes sense.  Issue by issue I’ve gotten a piece of the puzzle.  I…

August 30, 2012 7:47 pm I recently had to move my comic collection. I decided to organize it by publisher first and then by character family. I am trying to reduce my collection first by looking at which storylines I have multiple versions. I am then trying to find my favorite versions to keep and discard the others. I am currently prioritizing what to keep in issue, in trade paperback, or hardcover so as to minimize space but to have the storylines in a form I can most enjoy. I tend to prefer book sized hardcovers as my preferred method of keeping favorites.

I'm with poopmonster.  I kept hoping for more of the Legion in Adventure Comics.

I'm hoping for a recap from someone on what the Legion has done in the present from the JLA/JSA crossover by Johns and Meltzer.

The three I'm looking forward to are in order:

New Avengers

Batman

Ultimatum.

BQ: Eating Prime Rib with friends of the family. Yum.

November 18, 2008 9:30 pm I just want to chime in with the general frustration about the sharp changes.  I'm enjoying Legion of Super-Heroes with Jim Shooter.  He was pretty unhappy on Newsarama. Also with the loud no comment by Chuck Dixon after he left his books makes it feel like it could happen again.  I'm hopeful this just stirs things up and it comes out alright but I've had reason to worry in the past.
October 12, 2008 7:56 pm I love this book.  I read the last 2 issues because I got them for free out of the cheap comic box at my local comic store.  And I bought the Hardcover because I was intrigued by those issues.  I read the whole thing in one night and have been re-reading parts of this every since.  This is fantastic.
August 15, 2008 7:24 pm I have to agree. This was my POW.  After this, it was Captain Britain and then Final Crisis: Revelations.
July 18, 2008 12:17 am I liked the story but really didn't like the art.  I think this artist is the new artist on one of the Avengers books after Secret Invasion and that concerns me because I'm liking Bendis' writing
May 12, 2008 5:16 pm @Conor: Did you know this month's Superman is a fill-in issues?  Next month is when James Robinson's run starts.
