June 15, 2009 5:21 pm Released on a Monday....eww. I'm reading this in trades (well...Omnibus!) but this is pretty lame on Marvel's side IMO. Just wait and release it with the rest of the books on Wednesday...I mean, this just makes no sense.
Personally, I think it's too soon, but I also understand that the Marvel U is indeed not the same without Steve, and damn if I don't love New Avengers, but I really would love to see one proper Avengers book again with Cap, Iron Man, Thor, Hawkeye, etc. I came full boar back into comics around the time Bendis was doing Avengers: Disassembled so I got very few books with a proper, classic Avengers feeling, and I'd really love to read that again, and I have a feeling it's coming.
I can totally understand people thinking it's too soon, but all the same I'm not bothered by it.
People are mad about L4D 2 because the first game just came out last year. Some people thing it's too soon to warrant another $60 game that looks to be more of the same. I am not one of them, mind you. I liked Left 4 Dead and this looks like more zombie killing fun to be had all around, so I don't really think Valve's crazy scheme to make more money should be all that shocking or appalling. But that's just me.
About the webcomic: I have so few that I follow religiously (I always start reading one, then completely forget to keep checking it and never go back). This one looks like a keeper though. Very funny from what I've read (also going through from the beginning). I really hope I don't forget to check this one :P
Good find, Josh.
Update: Added the bookmark to my bookmark toolbar so that should do it.
Awesome, this is fantastic news. Now I can easily just pull up my pull list while in the shop and not worry about remembering it, or printing it out and carrying it with me. This is something I've been wanting for a while :)
I'll be giving it a test drive later today (or tomorrow, whenever I have time) when I go to my comic shop. On first look though, it looks nice. Really slick and easy to read/navigate. Good job, guys!
June 9, 2009 3:42 pm Hrmm to get the Director's Cut or wait for this "Ultimate" Edition. Well, after being screwed in the past by Lord of the Rings, Serenity, and Sin City I think I'll just wait this one out. I don't really need to see this again that badly anyhow, I can wait.
June 8, 2009 8:28 pm I also bought the first trade because of the price point and really liked it a lot. Somehow I completely missed that FCBD issue though...I think I'm going to stick to reading this in trades, though.
BQ: The sound of a broom on concrete/pavement of any kind. Kind of ironic that my job usually entails at least a few minutes of sweeping on concrete per day. The good news is I'm BEGINNING to be able to tolerate it more and more...
As for books this week, I have another pretty big week. Really looking forward to the new Bat books and the next installment of Flash: Rebirth.
