Fantastic review, encapsulates my thoughts entirely.
Thought this was pretty good - although, was it just me, or was Iron Man a little too chatty when he took on the Hulk? I could've done without the backups, though. Some of the dialogue in the Rick Jones story was awful; couldn't believe the same writer had scribed it. Even so, I'll be back for #26.
I'm jumping off. Majorie Liu and Acuna had a good thing going, shame it had to end so soon. I'm sure Swierczynski will do a good job, seems right up his alley ... but changing a creative team 5 issues into a series is too good an excuse for me to drop something from a pull list that's in need of some serious trimming.
Is this a good place to jump on board?
I understand / respect your criticism, but at the same time I'm not sure I needed Langridge to waste panels over Thor apologising / Jane reacting. Thor wasn't thinking straight and she knew that.
The scene probably could have been played better though, I agree. Why'd it have to be a backhand? Maybe a gentle shove instead, a slight push. That one moment aside, I think Langridge is doing a wonder job on this book.
Yeah, delays are seriously hurting this book. I loved the first couple of issues, but when the second came out I had to re-read the first because I couldn't remember the intricacies of the plot, and I quite frankly don't have the time to re-read #1 & #2 before reading #3. Such a shame, I would've loved to support Azzarello's project, but I can't quite justify it in single issues.
I'm sure it'll read brilliantly in trade format.
@PraxJarvin - I agree, this was awesome stuff. Nothing heavy, just a fun read.
Action Comics & Superman might be getting all the attention at the moment, but Supergirl (when the book is avoiding crossovers) is probably the best of the bunch, in my opinion.
