I have been lukewarm for this series and I can't really understand why. Chris Samnee's art is almost too good. I can barely stand to look at his blog without wanting to buy all his art, and Matthew Wilson's colors are wonderful in how they work with Samnee's art. But the writing in this book has just been feeling slight to me. The tone is somewhat jokey but trying to be melodramatic, and I just don't think it works for instance:
Thor hit Jane in this book, and not one single thing was said of it. He never apologized, she never asked about it. It was completely glossed over, but he backhanded her.
Normally it wouldn't be a big deal because he wasn't himself at all, but considering Hank Pym and Janet were in this book, it was this glaring thing to me. I mean, he hit her, full out hit her. He never apologized, she never was like "hey you big jerk" nothing like that.I'm not upset that he hit her on the basis that hitting females are wrong. I understand story and whatnot, it's just that, nothing was said of it. And that's probably the best example I can give of why I feel the writing is slight in this, things just aren't said or explored.

Totally valid criticism. That was a little odd, wasn’t it?
I love this art work! I haven’t received this issue yet but I have to disagree with most people about this series. While I love the art work the writing just seems there. I don’t find any real enjoyment from what I’m reading nor do I think there’s really any purpose to any of the story so far.
I understand / respect your criticism, but at the same time I’m not sure I needed Langridge to waste panels over Thor apologising / Jane reacting. Thor wasn’t thinking straight and she knew that.
The scene probably could have been played better though, I agree. Why’d it have to be a backhand? Maybe a gentle shove instead, a slight push. That one moment aside, I think Langridge is doing a wonder job on this book.
