Name: Casey Thomasson

Bio: Warrior from the future sent back in time to teach the past how to be awesome. And also for comics.I lean toward the tights and fights genre, but if the story's not there then neither am I (I'm lookin' at you, Fear Itself...). That said, off-beat gems like Bone, Midnight Nation and Y: The Last Man have been known to keep my attention. Green Lantern, Silver Surfer, Young Justice and the Avengers made me love comics, but the loss of Slingers taught me the bitter lessons of fanboydom. Now I just love readin' 'em, commentin' on 'em and havin' a grand ol' time!

June 12, 2013 9:48 am Honestly, I agree. Not using John Stewart was, I feel, a blunder, if only because it was an incredible opportunity to create a top-tier superhero franchise centered around a black character (who isn't a violent murderer). As has been said numerous times in this discussion, most folk know John Stewart as GL better than Hal.
June 12, 2013 8:24 am God, I would LOVE a globetrotting Blue Beetle adventure movie with an Indiana Jones/Rocketeer vibe. I mean, it worked for Captain America.
June 12, 2013 8:23 am If their track record is any indication, we'll see a Power Pack movie before Teen Titans gets made...
June 12, 2013 8:15 am Hey, guys? How about Kyle? Maybe Kyle could be-- *struck in head by a thousand tomatoes*
June 12, 2013 8:11 am Beautiful work, Mike. You've expressed why Superman matters very, very well. My kudos.
June 11, 2013 12:07 pm I have long fantasized about a CG animated Metal Men movie, Pixar or Dreamworks style. Pixar's off the table, obviously, but man, it seems tailor made...
June 11, 2013 12:06 pm Great article, Chris. Y'know, I've been thinking about it, and I don't think that WB should make a Justice League movie next. Aside from the voluminous problems in following Marvel's model, I think they've got a home run in their back pocket already: World's Finest. The other heroes of the JLA are great, but really, bringing Batman and Superman together is more than enough to not only sustain a film, but to get the movie-going masses in fits of hysteria. Plus, you don't have to hope for the minor miracle that was the character balance in the Avengers, nor do you have to create 5 movies leading up to it. Put your headliners out front, and THEN build up the band.
June 10, 2013 10:33 pm Same. Sad to hear that Booth's leaving the book. I'm really digging this.
June 10, 2013 10:31 pm Oh, just wistful, I suppose, for those hopeful days when we imagined that the popularity of superhero films would drive a ravenous nation of moviegoers to their local comic stores in droves. Just not sure why it's a bad thing to put out Superman comics when there's a Superman movie out.
June 10, 2013 9:14 pm I don't care about Snyder. I don't care about Lee. I don't care about posters, $5 or whatever movie might be coming out this week. I want a Superman book worthy of Superman. I hope that this is it.
