Name: Casey Thomasson

Bio: Warrior from the future sent back in time to teach the past how to be awesome. And also for comics.I lean toward the tights and fights genre, but if the story's not there then neither am I (I'm lookin' at you, Fear Itself...). That said, off-beat gems like Bone, Midnight Nation and Y: The Last Man have been known to keep my attention. Green Lantern, Silver Surfer, Young Justice and the Avengers made me love comics, but the loss of Slingers taught me the bitter lessons of fanboydom. Now I just love readin' 'em, commentin' on 'em and havin' a grand ol' time!

February 27, 2013 11:33 pm Good news: This book is still awesome.
February 27, 2013 10:11 pm Fun stuff, this. Even more excited for the series proper to start.
February 27, 2013 10:00 pm The last Agent of the Empire miniseries, Iron Eclipse, was phenomenal. As such, I was more than a little disappointed when this one downgraded in artists and started focusing on more political hand-wringing than Episode I. But man, all is forgiven with this issue, as Jahan Cross proves that he's the baddest man in the Galaxy by duping everyone from Boba Fett to the Empire itself to get what he wants, culminating in one of the smoothest scenes ever committed to the comics page. If this dude doesn't get a spin-off film of his own, Disney is mad.
February 27, 2013 9:55 pm Sooo, this was great! A chance to cool down, get to know our characters, set up the status-quo and, oh yeah, have an AWESOME CUT-AWAY OF THEIR NEW BASE! I feel like Ron has to call in this week, just to geek out about that sweet, sweet cut-away!
February 27, 2013 9:52 pm Holy cow! Now THAT is how you make a comic! This book was packed solid from cover to cover with classic action and adventure. I feel I must make a bold statement: I liked this issue more that any of Waid/Samnee's series, and for the record, that series was DAMN near perfect!
February 27, 2013 9:50 pm Hang on, let me check in the back. *checks in the back* Nope, sorry, All The Other Books. There's no more ass left for you. This book kicked it all.
February 27, 2013 9:47 pm Dammit, still not digging this. It felt like it was missing pages, as characters reacted to things that didn't happen and plot-points appeared out of nowhere. I want to love this, Gillen! WHY WON'T YOU LET MEEEEE!??!?
February 27, 2013 9:44 pm That page with Nightwing and Robin was glorious and brutal. It reminded me of the amazing lighting in a bottle that was their tenure as the Dynamic Duo. RIP, you little bastard. Here's hoping it's all a ruse and Batman is sending you to live with a nice family somewhere, Angel style. Also, yes, Community is waaaaay weird now. Mainly because it's not as weird as before...
February 27, 2013 3:26 pm I realize some folks will be mad that this is, essentially, a reboot of Star-Lord and the Guardians. As a huge DnA fan, I have to say that this was good enough that I couldn't care less. Can't wait for more!
February 26, 2013 12:45 pm Didn't fall in love with issue 1, but the characters and creators definitely warrant the benefit of the doubt. Looking forward to this.
