Wonder Woman has long been one of my favorites. People who have never read it sort of look at me funny when i say that.

Do yourself a favor and Read This.

It is totally bad ass. Great plot, great bloody action and just sets the mood for the world of Wonder Woman.

essentially, The Greek Gods are pretty damn terrible. Mortals do not do well when the interact with the Gods. And I’m not talking about the “bad” ones like Hades or Ares. We see Hera and Apollo sacrificing mortals and mutilating animals to act as oracles for them and to create monsters. Graphic, bloody images without being juvenile or what 13 year olds think of as “adult”.

They don’t really explain very much, they never say who the God’s and Goddess’s you see are. If you don;t know Apollo is the god of prophecy and the Oracles are his, you would wonder who the dude with the fiery halo is. If you didn’t know Hera’s symbol is a peacock, you would not really know the lady mutilating horses with a scythe was Hera. They trust you to figure it out. They don’t need to spell out every detail.

A good, smart dark story that trusts you to be smart enough to get it.

5 out of 5 stars
