I’ve recently gotten into reading The Authority in TPBs, so I thought I’d give Stormwatch a run. And it’s good. The characters are here, with their really unique power sets, and the same sort of peculiar cosmic problems. It feels very much like its Wildstorm incarnation, and but for the Martian Manhunter’s presence on the team, and the occasional mention of Superman, could just as well still be that.

The exposition is the most absurdly indelicate I’ve seen in a long time (the characters literally say aloud what their powers do, while doing them, to people who already KNOW), but I can deal with that – when you have a guy whose power is to manipulate cities (for instance), it’s a little hard to describe.

The art does not always work for me. Some of it seems almost lazy, or sketchy. I’m hoping it will improve.
