May 24, 2013 6:42 pm Flashpoint was awesome and I'm stoked to see Thomas Wayne as Batman again. Flashpoint's Superman is also very cool.
May 24, 2013 6:38 pm I love alternate tales.
May 23, 2013 11:28 pm @IthoSapien It's true or so I've read. But, this is the first time it's ever affected me directly. Thus, I care.
May 23, 2013 7:18 pm What a pleasant story. I can relate to worrying excessively for a wife's safety. We're husbands, we're hardwired to obsess over their well being. Whether it's locking all the doors and windows a million times before bed, checking out those strange sounds at night or wondering if we should escort her everywhere she goes to ensure her safety. Sounds crazy, I know. I also took a hiatus from comics in the late 90's. not to grow up, but because they were becoming terrible. I just got fed up and walked away. Picking up only the occasional TPB. In 2007, I happen by chance to pick up a comic book that caught my eye in a bookstore. It was Green Lantern #26 and the obsession began all over again. :D
May 22, 2013 2:40 am I adore 408. That opening rooftop seen with the Joker, brief as it was, is classic and one of my favorite drawn Jokers of all time.
May 22, 2013 1:42 am I get the impression that you're messing around with me a bit, but what the hell. i'm a good sport. He only put his name on the first Vibe to get people to at least check it out to sell more books(speculation) and, more importantly, to make sure the character reinforced what he wanted to do with him in JLA. Now, as it stands, he's doing 2 JL books, Aquaman, Trinity War and he probably has to coordinate it with at least a few other books. I'd say he has a pretty full DC plate that he's about to make happy. Also, if I'm lucky, he'll take over Earth 2 in 9 months. I don't know if you heard, but his JSA is fairly popular. ;)
May 21, 2013 6:51 pm I think it matters less WHO is playing Kirk and Spock, it's the fact that it IS Kirk and Spock.
May 21, 2013 1:34 pm I'm an old-school Star Trek fan. The 60's series and TNG are MY Trek shows. I grew up with them. I hated Babylon and Deep Space 9 and all the other crappy shows that have followed. Just not for me. I've loved all the movies except for Nemesis, it was just ok. I went and saw Into Darkness this weekend and it blew my mind how good it is. I had only seen the teaser previews and had no idea Kahn was going to be in this until I pieced it together while watching, which was fun for me. Definitely enhanced the experience. I loved the Spock/Kirk reverse death scene. To see Spock overcome with emotion and then scream "Kaaaaaaaaaaaahn!" really hit a high note for me and brought a tear to my eye. When I read all of the "old guys" overall displeasure with the film and how it doesn't measure up to past films and how moments weren't earned, I have a flashback to Gollum holding the original Star Trek films and chanting "my precious". Same thing with the people who love the original Star Wars trilogy, but hate everything else Star Wars. Guys, it's not that we're getting old, it's just harder to view things with a completely open mind like we use to because the material has become TOO precious to us and clouded our judgement. It's a hindrance that only serves to obstruct your movie going experience.
May 21, 2013 12:16 pm I also love GR(I even got Marvel Spotlight #5 :D )and I'm disappointed they haven't done a damn thing with him. BUT, my biggest complaint about Marvel Now is that they took the Punisher away from Rucka(basically told him to fuck off) just to put him in a piece garbage book like Thunderbolts. And for all the dog piling onto to DC at EVERY turn about how they "mistreat" talent, nobody really talks about, to my knowledge, how Marvel TOTALLY FUCKED RUCKA. when discussing this topic I become worthy of the #6 spot on the "literal hot heads" list. ;)
