this series focuses around harper simmons. a cooper anderson-like reporter who has transported to a world where wolverine has been infected with the “Apocalypse Seed”. corrupted, he has become Weapon Omega and has set out to exterminate humanity. harper becomes a revolutionary and is picked up by a band of freedom fighters who are humanity’s last hope for survival. a rag-tag team of motley characters(the x-terminated) including a depowered jean grey, william stryker, donald pierce as a double agent who has infiltrated the hellfire club and my favorite new character Horror Show aka graydon creed. sabretooth’s son.

Weapon Omega has charged dark beast with resurrecting dead mutants all frankenstein style to help in his quest for total world domination and the extinction of the human race. dark beast even has an egor-esque assistant in sugarman. they have brought back many fallen mutants. most notably cyclops and his brother, havok. i sense a foreshadowing, if not a promise, of dysfunctional sibling rivalry and hijinks in the near future. perhaps even a source of comedy relief in this gritty, dark account.

the new character reveal at the end was a great cliffhanger and has me super stoked for this title next month and there after.
