May 23, 2012 7:35 pm That was a fantastic read and made me very pleased that I jumped back on after only reading the first three issues. I dig the new team (really all you need for a team to work is some bickering and a love-hate romantic relationship, but Lemire did it so well!). The book felt packed with content and story without being too wordy. I loved the Vertigo miniseries that the last page reveal talks about, so it looks like I'm on for the ride of the arc at least. Art was also really good and bright while still being a little different from traditional supers art. The coloring was perfect throughout.
May 12, 2012 2:39 pm I'd buy the first issue just to see the costumes alone.
April 30, 2012 5:56 pm Anyone know if this is going to be available digitally anywhere? I'm interested in this (never read it as a kid, but I can remember seeing ads for it all the time in Wizard magazine), and want to check out this first issue if possible.
April 30, 2012 5:50 pm This was one of the New 52 #1's that actually pushed me out of trade waiting to buying comics weekly. It's also one of the few comics from that first batch of DC #1's that I still buy right when it comes out. It's still strong, and I can't wait to see where it goes after the first two arcs are done!
April 27, 2012 7:37 pm I'm feeling her the most too. Love the redesign, love Cam Stewart. The two would go together so well!
March 21, 2012 8:41 pm Picked this up based on your tweet earlier this afternoon Josh, and I was not disappointed! Thanks for the recommendation, and I can't wait for number two! Although I'm buying this digitally in issues, it might be the first book I pick up after doing so in trade format after having already paid for it once.
March 18, 2012 9:58 am No offense, but I completely disagree with this design philosophy when it comes to costumes. I do think that every aspect should serve a function, but that the function should be in service to the aesthetic appeal and not necessarily a practical purpose.
March 18, 2012 9:55 am Me too. I love the design, the hair, the everything about her. That is, except for the awful coloring in those preview images. They make everything look so cheap. The book needs sharp, clean lines and big blocks of smooth coloring like in McKelvie's design. That would really get across the military feel.
March 16, 2012 9:32 am Noto is just amazing. He's the only person who could draw two people on a couch and make it as breath-taking as those other worldly fantasy covers (which are also amazing).
March 15, 2012 7:05 pm The difference here being is that those things are part of the story as opposed to being tacked on just for the sake of it.
