SteveM

Name: Steve Marusich

I discovered iFanboy very randomly by putting comics into the search engine at itunes. I think they had done about 10 episodes. After listening to 2-3 I was hooked. I'm married with 3 kids, and even my wife has a couple of comics she really likes. I'm not much for posting a lot of personal details on the site, but I am a big fan of the what they are doing here at iFanboy and hope the community stay as cool as it has been as long as I have been coming here. One thing I will say is that I am guessing I am the only person to ever click on the Amazon link on the site here and then buy something like "John Owen: the Man and His Theology" but maybe not.

What is up with the Jonah Hex face flap?  In what weird way would any injury to the face result in your upper and lower lip becoming attached in that particular way?  In the picture you posted, it looks like his flap connects the skin just below his nostrils to his chin skin.   What kind of evil 19th Century surgeon treated this man?

2008 Year End All Media Spectacular!

OK, so last night I saw that In Bruges was free on my On Demand.  "Hey, let's watch this, the guys on ifanboy really liked it."  2 [violent, bloody, gory] hours later, my wife, "Honey, why don't you give me a list of movies they liked so I know what not to see with you." She is really not into the blood and violence.

Heroes - S03E13 - Dual

On Dec 15, 2008 8:00 PM

This next arc needs to be a whole lot better and much more even for me to stick it out to season 4.  I am so glad they fired Loeb and friends.  I really enjoyed a few episodes, but most felt confusing and uneven--and if we of the comic geek kind feel confused, forget regular folks sticking with it. The whole, he's a bad guy, no a good guy thing with Nathan and Gabriel was just retar...

200 Words with Paul Dini #40 - True Story, Swear To God

Man, that sucks balls.  Really, that is just turd-riffic.  That is the epitome of every bad thing you ever hear about Hollywood suit types. The really sad thing is for the guy out there trying to break in, and he gets forced to sign some BS deal like this to pay the bills.

The Lost Ten Commandments of Comics

On Dec 11, 2008 12:00 PM

Well, I just moved to Boston after growing up in the south (Alabama), living in Missouri, Texas, and Metro DC so I find my vocabulary/accent all mixed up--ya'll, you guys, and am now trying to work 'wicked' into the mix. Also, I have travelled in the UK quite a bit so I tried to dropping 'cheers, mate', 'shattered', and 'bugger' on a regular basis thinkng I was being cool. Then, some of my Ki...

15 Years Later and I'm Still Reading Youngblood

Good job, Ron.  I'm sure I will enjoy this should I get a chance to pick it up soon.  You've sold me.  I, too, can see the points his critics make, but I loved his stuff back in the Cable days of the '90s.
