November 10, 2019 9:21 pm About UNDISCOVERED COUNTRY - I was surprised to hear such a lukewarm review from you guys. Gorgeous to look at and also good storytelling with the art, I thought - the concept sure is compelling and my reaction was that I was reading an HBO-like episodic story - a near-future science fiction alternate history world-building ensemble piece (whew!). The back-story of each of the characters in the helicopter was organically blended into moving the story forward, instead of a data-dump out of a character's mouth. I really enjoyed this - it made me ask the best question of all when I get into a good story: "what's going to happen next?"
May 7, 2018 10:20 am (not related to this week's podcast, but I see it coming) "I'm not black, I'm Kanye." Ta-Nehisi Coates writes: "Kanye West wants freedom — white freedom." Uh-oh, this is making me nervous about his upcoming Captain America run (not a political statement, a story statement; maybe not for me if we are going to go down a white America/black America "thing". I'm exhausted by all that.
April 11, 2018 8:05 pm Josh, you nailed it: entertaining, informative and it really is amazing how smooth if felt. Your "interior monologue" version of the podcast feels like, although connected to the iFanboy "brand", is a new and different thing. It worked, bottom line and I'd welcome it again. ALSO (but no pressure) I would welcome a solo version by Connor - each of you have passionately held opinions that come through. Each is, obviously, articulate and I think you, Josh, have solidified and given form to a "new take" on what an iFanboy podcast can be every now and then - especially at the end, when answering listener mail - that was really the most interesting part for me this time. I prefer you two together because of how well you bounce off of each other, but bravo, well done Sir!
March 25, 2018 4:43 pm It's called a "California Roll" (as in, you just keep rolling through the intersection, giving a nod to the Stop sign as you pass by - checking things out, but not really, actually stopping at all).
November 14, 2017 9:16 am YAY RON!! GOOD ON YA! CONGRATS ON NEW POSITION WITH MARVEL (just read on )
August 13, 2017 2:49 pm first of all, even before I listen this week: I LOVE MY "ONE IS ELECTRO" SHIRT !!!!!!!
July 30, 2017 4:14 pm Flash #27 - They are turning Reverse Flash into Kang.
July 10, 2016 7:16 pm "how is any 15 yr old qualified to be in this role" ?....uh, Spider-man? Both, actually. It's comic books. It works.
July 10, 2016 7:13 pm Nicely done, Josh - I was entertained! I was fascinated to find out that you have your own super power: "rapid-fire subject-switching ability" (getting immediately into the next comic after banter - It can't be easy.) The real key for me, however, is that you have hit podcast gold with a new feature I think you should call: "Twitter Rapid Fire" - keep it in! This new (once-a-month?) feature is that you three do round-robin style "Twitter rapid fire" Q+A's. More people get to ask questions and have them read and you guys get to pontificate more (I really WAS interested in your opinions on the types of questions I heard, and imagine same would work with Ron and Conor. Yes, yes?)
May 2, 2015 11:15 pm The 3 of you have a unique chemistry that simply works. Do these movie reviews with a sponsor - not for us - for the civilians, in a more mass market brand. You provide film reviews utilizing comic book POV and can educate the audience while being your entertaining selves. We all, of course, would show up so you have us as leverage when attracting a sponsor.
