18 books for me - which is rapidly becoming the norm.  Glad to see Hawkman making a resurgence.  Hawkman's always been one of my favorites, but I wish they'd get him off Thanagar and back into the mainstream DCU.  As much as I love Power Girl, he really needs to be permanent chairman of the JSA.

I'm also looking forward to Final Crisis, Batman, Hellcat and The Twelve.

BQ: Not being much of a movie goer, I still have plenty of superhero movies to catch before they leave theatres.  I don't have a clue what's coming up in the future.

Perhaps it is 40 pages because they are intentionally skipping a month between issues 3 & 4?

I thought they did a good job capturing the feel of the Watchmen books (although, yes, the word balloons are unnecessary.)  However, I had a hard time with the Invincible episodes for a few reasons:

The Watchmen has an old-fashioned feel so the stop motion animation seemed to work, while the Invincible one, set in contemporary times, just felt weird.

Also, the Watchmen is paced much more slowly and is more based on dialogue than action, which works better for this style.  I don't think it works too well with fast-paced battle scenes.

July 31, 2008 1:20 am If Geoff Johns goes over to Marvel I will weep deep, bitter tears.
July 31, 2008 1:10 am Wow this book was just one big nerdgasm after another for me.  I've been waiting decades to see these characters again, and more importantly, it is beginning to piece together exactly how the multiverse will be set up in the future.  I, for one, couldn't be more pleased.
July 26, 2008 7:45 am I'm glad I have stuck with it too.  Conor is right when he talks about how the pace of a weekly book is different.  You have to give it time.  Right now it has my interest and I'm looking forward to each issue.  I also like how the back-ups are tieing into the main book right away.

I love Geoff Johns for making me feel like i'm 12 again

I love my Action Figures proudly out of the blister pack and standing in rows on my bookshelf

I love comic book podcasts in general and iFanboy specifically for getting me charged up again about comics.

I love being able to go to cons and meeting my favorite creators and podcasters

I love my Dad for buying me comics when I was home sick from school and my Mom for not forcing me to get rid of them after.

I love reading a comic and being totally surprised by it (Scott Pilgrim anyone?)

I love being a grownup with a good job so I can support my $75 a week habit.

I love picking up my books on Wed. and reading one in the parking lot because I can't wait to get it home.

I love superhero team books and the more members the better.

I love "Tom vs. the JLA" & "Comic Book Queers" and how podcasts don't feel the need to compete with each other for listeners, but instead often cross-promote each others shows.

Fantastic issue - after reading the Kirby Omnibus I was glad to see Sunny Sumo show up.  And does anyone else but me remember Rising Sun from the first appearance of the Global Guardians way back in the original SuperFriends comic?
