October 24, 2008 2:13 pm As a comic book fan, the concept delights me if it can be pulled off.  However as a Musical Theatre fan the concept just disgusts me. Broadway producers won't even touch a story idea unless it is based on a previously existing property.  I know that its nothing new, but lately it seems to have become much worse.   Have we really sunk to the lowest common denominator just to get people in the seats?  IMO I'd rather see this in a scaled down version the next time I go to a Universal Studios Theme Park.

I loved this series - and the relationship between Hulkling and Wiccan is one of the few realistic and well-adjusted gay relationships out there.  Too bad its stuck in comics limbo.

(Yes Ron, there are iFangays - we're out here)

@NealAppeal -- don't forget Proty!!

October 10, 2008 11:20 am  As silly as it was, that may be my favorite ST:TNG episode.  Leave it to Sonia and the rest of the iFanboys to constantly come up with new and provocative things to think about in the comics medium.  Temba, his arms wide!!
October 1, 2008 9:04 pm I've been reading comics since the mid 70s and I am both proud and ashamed to say I still have every comic book I've ever owned.  Most of them are in storage, and will probably never see the light of day again, but they are a huge connection to my childhood and as I get older I find that I'm clinging harder to anything from my youth.  Perhaps I can figure out a way to be bagged and boarded at my death and put in a longbox for eternity.

After being on vacation I picked up 3 weeks worth of books at nearly $150 - I haven't a clue what came out when.  I guess I'll have to do a little retroactive pull list so I know what order to read everything! I'm just psyched to get back to reading ANYTHING so I can catch up with the podcast

August 14, 2008 9:58 pm Great job, Conor -- aside from giving us a peek at the inner workings of your brain, it gives a great feel for Manhattan too.  I'm glad I'm not the only one who fantasizes about the other people on the train.
August 9, 2008 11:58 am Hey!  Is that Ron on page 5 saying "What's that around him?"   I believe it is!
August 8, 2008 1:52 pm As a gay member of the iFanbase, thanks so much Sonia!  What a fun article.   My one notable omission has got to be Hawkman!  True he'd never be able to commit because he's so hung up on his soulmate, but oooh that chest!

Great article!  I'm old enough to have bought my comics for a quarter off the spinner racks at O'Jonnies," the littel 5&10 that was conveniently located right next to my elementary school.  (Its still there but much more upscale now.)  I didn't know anything about "new comics day" so I just went every day after school and picked up something interesting.  I still know which issues they were because they stamped the date on the cover of each issue.

When I was in college in the 80's and a comic book shop opened up in the mall near the University I was in heaven!  The concept of an entire store dedicated just to comics was like Paradise Found.  I have had a pull list ever since.
