September 23, 2010 1:35 am I will definitely be there. It will be a long trip home to the Bronx, but sweet alcohol eases the pain.

Really great episode, mainly due to Ron loving the Superheroes manual. Steve Rogers on peyote-fueled dreamquest which leads to judgemental cataloging of heroes. Brilliant!

Also, another big Quasar fan here. One of the first comic stories that really grabbed me as a kid was the Project Pegasus arc in Marvel-Two-In-One, which prominently featured Quasar. After that, old Wendell always had a place in my heart.

Note to Robert (or other Quasar fans): Marvel Boy from Agents of Atlas is tied into the Quasar character in that Marvel Boy was the original wielder of the Quantum Bands. Quasar's first identity "Marvel Man" was based on the Marvel Boy character.

(I've always been drawn to the 3rd tier or z-list Marvel characters. Go Stingray! (anyone remember Skull the Slayer?))

Yeah, I just don't like Hiro-Kala (or whatever his name is). I've tried to read the various backups he is in and the story from the Realm of Kings HC I bought, but I just can't get into it. Hopefully it will be concluded with the end of the Dark Son storyline and Hiro-Kala will go away.

Otherwise, I've been enjoying the Hulk books and I will read anything Jeff Parker writes.

Congrats on 250! Great show. Thanks for answering my questions (I'm Joe from the Bronx BTW).

I do have to clarify one thing, though -- the ink coming off on my fingers only comes from the covers, not the pages. I guess I'm just an oily guy. I pretty much only read comics lying down, holding them with both hands. Apparently, I'm the only person this happens to. Just another reason to switch to trades and HCs.

Hope I get a chance to meet you guys at NYCC!

Best wishes for the next 250!

Can't wait until the Marvels project. The Invaders was one of the first series I collected (in back issues) when I started seriously reading comics in the early 80's.  Avenger/Invaders has been ok, but not quite what I would have liked.  I prefer to see the Invaders in action in WWII.  This could really be excellent.

 Also, I too look forward to Pet Avengers. Lockjaw!

@Paul

I've also read all but the most recent Hellboy novels and also have the Odd Jobs anthology.They are all pretty good, light reading (great for the subway).  However, the best thing about Hellboy IMO is the great art, whether by Mignola (which is best) or the other great artists they've got on the various comic series.  The novels often explore aspects of Hellboy's personal life, i.e. old girlfriends, which are absent from the comics.

This is my POW for one reason primarily...Frankenstein's Monster!!!

I thought the art was very good as well. I was put off at first by the large text piece, but when I started reading it, I found it a pretty fun bit of Dracula prose. Very B-Movie-ish, which I like.

I like the ironay of the Arbor Day Special being printed on paper. I'd buy that for a dollar!

My favorite holiday in comics: Thanksgiving with the JLA and JSA. Turkey, stuffing and Power Girl.
