August 17, 2011 9:15 am This is the end of the JLA so Robinson's run on this book ended with this issue. The new relaunched Justice League #1 comes out in two short weeks and will be written by Geoff Johns.

May 18, 2011 1:21 pm This issue was pure fun. I've never read anything with Avengers Academy but I thought the team was pretty cool. And this is definitely a Spidey book again, as opposed to the FF arc which had Spidey in a more supporting role.

Plus the backup story was pure coolness.
May 15, 2011 8:06 am @FACE Johns does not suck. His writing is still top notch. I think what his fans, myself included, are feeling is the burnout from Johns writing almost nothing but event comics for what seems like forever. As good as any of these events might be on their own, they lose their punch when the DCU becomes just one event after another.
May 12, 2011 9:51 am As much as I agree with Zeppo and want some Spidey-centric stories, I'm kind of looking at all these crossovers as a sort of Marvel Team-Up comics. I expect we'll get back to regular Spidey stuff when Spider Island starts at issue #666.
May 11, 2011 9:04 am I'm getting the main series to tide me over until the inevitable return of a main Flash title but, honestly, after Countdown, 52, Blackest Night, Brighest Day... I'm just burned out on crisis/event stuff. I wish DC would just get back to good character driven stories (as is being done in Detective Comics at the moment).
May 11, 2011 8:57 am Obviously, the FF was in Spidey's title to draw new readers to the new FF series. It worked. I added FF to my pull list because of their appearances in ASM. However, I do agree that their crossover has gone on long enough and I'll be glad to see the sole Spider-Man title return to actually being more Spidey-centric.
May 9, 2011 8:08 am I liked this. As far as the scale not being action-packed, I like the buildup. I also read DC and the last several years have been filled with events that are over-the-top and I'm nearly burned out. So coming from that standpoint, the start to Fear Itself is a nice change of pace in my pull list. I expect with The Worthy getting hammers, that the action will pick up in a hurry soon enough.
April 29, 2011 5:42 pm I suppose it boils down to what sort of flavor you like for Venom. I happen to like him as the struggling hero here but I agree with @al2mrt in that there aren't many possible outcomes since they've set limits on the use of the symbiote. The way I see it, they can: 1.  rewrite the rules so that Flash can continue to use the suit. 2. turn Flash into a new villainous Venom when he loses control of the suit or 3. find a way to get rid of Flash once the limits have been reached and have a new military person take over the role. Personally, I'd like to see #3 since that way Venom could completely be revamped every year or two and keep the stories fresh and exciting.
April 29, 2011 12:08 pm I've only recently gotten back into Marvel (with Spidey, Venom, and Fear Itself). I left during the clone saga in the 90s, came back for some Ultimate stuff, Punisher, and the odd trade (Civil War). That said, I don't see why everyone seems to dislike the new Venom so much. I was never a huge fan of the original Venom (Brock). He was an okay villain and I loved his powers but he grew stale very quickly from overuse. I lost interest in Venom completely when Marvel kept trying to make him into the violent anti-hero. It just didn't work. However, using the suit as a metaphor for alcoholism and addiction is great and I like Flash Thompson in the suit. I also like that the suit can change from the military to the monster based on how much control Flash has at the time. It's a great concept and I'm looking forward to where Remender takes this one!
