NYCC 2012: Scott Snyder & Jim Lee to Launch a New SUPERMAN Series For 2013
October 11, 2012 7:38 pm Seems like Snyder's trying to pull a Man of Steel-esque move. Which would make sense, given the movie coming out.
Snyder's great, so count me in.

FIRST LOOK: David Morrissey as The Governor on ‘The Walking Dead’
June 8, 2012 2:36 pm I'm guessing, since they really want to build The Governor up as a major antagonist, they want to give him the same kind of physical build and qualities you'd find in Rick. So they're tossing out the unkempt look to make him appear more reasonable and trustworthy, which'll only make his ruthless behavior that much more disturbing.

Top 5: Modern Comic Book Creator Pariahs
February 7, 2012 1:56 pm I think, as with all things, you have to separate a writer/artist, personally, from his work. I mean, I think Moore and Miller are two very brilliant and talented people. Changed the medium, no doubt. I would not want to grab a drink or hang out with either of these two people. But I'll still read their work, and if it's solid, I'll be the first one to sing their praises. It's the Orson Scott Card Scenario.
Meanwhile, there are people like Rob Liefeld or Matt Fraction (recently), whose work I have not particularly enjoyed. But they seem like great guys - they come off as really affable. I'm not going to buy their next comic, but that doesn't mean they're bad people.
Of course, there's the occasional JMS, who I'm not a fan of, who also seems to be a bit of a jerk (at least, from what I've read). But the two things are not related. His being a (possible) jerk isn't what stops me from buying his books.
You'd think these kinds of things would be no-brainers, but eh.

Hoping To Recapture That ‘Smallville’ Magic, The CW Orders ‘Arrow’ Pilot
January 13, 2012 2:55 pm Diggle and Jock's Green Arrow: Year One would be a fantastic starting point for a new series.

DC Histories: Hal Jordan (Green Lantern II)
January 11, 2012 11:14 am It should be noted that Day of Judgement, the event where Hal becomes The Spectre, was actually written by Geoff Johns. It's also pretty great. I remember liking it a lot.
Final Night is also a great read.

Comic Shots #17 with Chris Neseman: Dogfish Head 120 Minute IPA and ‘The Authority’
January 4, 2012 1:38 pm I've been lucky enough to have 120 Minute in both bottle and on tap, and seriously, as interesting as the bottled version is, it's an absolute draught dynamo. It's so much more smooth that you might forget it's a whopping 18% ABV. Food-wise, pairing it with some savory is an excellent idea, since it really opens up your tastebuds when it hits your tongue. I drank it along with an awesome filet steak, and I was in heaven.
Oh, and The Authority is real good, too, I guess...

NYCC 2011 TRAILER: Justice League: Doom
October 16, 2011 4:30 pm They seem to be changing a lot from Tower of Babel (which is fine, if you ask me - I love that story, but I'm all for mixing it up). Like, I'm pretty sure that's not R'as Al Ghul. Looks more like Vandal Savage.
Also digging Fatcat Luthor.
