Batgirl is the one book that I know I want to read, but I just cant seem to fit it into my my purchasing/reading budget.

Well, thats cleared up. Thanks, Conor.

But. . .It doesn't change the fact that how anyone could come to the conclusion that they were pulling the plug on OGN's from the original misunderstanding is a puzzle for the ages. It's disappointing how comic fans will jump on something so clearly fictive for a chance to complain or rage.

Uh, with all due respect, nothing in what JMS said indicates that DC is in any way pulling the plug on their OGN plans.

Posting an article like this, which essentially complains with the assumption that the news is fact. . with only the barest caveat that it is a fanciful rumor. . .? The comic community has enough avenues for fanning the flames of virtriol out of nothing. . . I would've thought Conor would have thought about this "news" more reasonably before stirring up the emotions of his readership. :-(

Eh, somehow i doubt the non-Superman and Batman titles would meet sales expectations even without people downloading.

I think I'm starting to get a handle on this Green Lantern movie, and I'm feeling like it's gonna turn out good. There's pictures of the holographic poster of Hal in his GL suit floating around and the domino mask looks really good in that one. Plus there are picture of what I'm presuming is art design of Kilowog and other aliens, and THEIR GL suits look really good.

Plus! Videos of Reynolds reciting the oath for a little kid are around. He really has the voice for it. He's going to be a better Hal than any of us would suspect, I think.

The only thing that gets me at this point is most of the promo material so far it making seem very dark and moody. That'll change I hope.

I'll have to disagree with the general consensus that the media getting bored of Superman just walking around is absurd. The media follows around famous crackpot personalities like Lindsay Lohan incessently because they deliver a spectacle. Think about all the extraordinarily famous people there are in the world, and think about how many of them you don't see on tv 24/7.

Lots of famous people can walk down the street unmolested. Its because they don't offer a spectacle, and atm Superman isn't either.

I'm gonna guees that the pulsey vein stuff and the mask wont look as hokey in the actual movie. Its still got a year to go, so they're probably showing some very preliminary cgi renders. If you've seen the behind-the-scene features for LoTR, its very clear that Gollum didn't look anywhere near as good as his final version until near the end of post production of The Two Towers.

This also kinda brings back memories of the early Batman Begins promo shots w/ Christian Bale looking pretty absurd and awkward in his Batman suit.

Guys, forgive me for not being a pessimist, I don't think any of this neccessarily means Morrison's Batman tenure is at an end.

A quick look at newsarama a telling, they report that "DC is also telling fans to “wait a few days” for the answer to the questions they feel inevitably come out of this announcement". Which the rama suspects, as well I do, that DC still has something up their sleeve regarding Morrison and Batman.

I mean, Grant DID explicitly state that he has ideas that directly spin out of his Return of Bruce Wayne/Batman and Robin deal. And nothing has really shaken up to presume those ideas are in jeopardy.

My guess is they're waiting to SDCC to announce yet another bat-title, Batman & Batman starring both Bruce and Dick as Batmans. ;-)

I'll never understand the high regard for X2. It wasn't bad by any means. By every time I've seen it since the theatres I've just been plain broed with it.

Seeing as it Sandman is ostensibly going to be their flagship back-issue title for the service:

Doing the math, at 1.99, the 75 issues of Sandman would run 149.25 before tax, Alternatively on Amazon, the 10 trades add up to 132.50 before tax.

The investment is only marginally more expesnsive than collecting it in print. Through amazon at least. If one goes to an actually bookstore to collect the trades, you'd have to ad $2 to $3 per volume. Which is about the cost of the digital issues. Kinda in the the ballpark isn't? It'd be great if Apple allowed 1.75 price, which would be right on the money as far as I'm concerned. But..so far, not to bad.
