February 20, 2010 12:59 pm I really enjoyed this issue.  It made me think of that Sea of Love film by Richard Price with Pacino.  Benson is a solid gritty crime writer.  It's what he does best and he did a very good job of it in his Moon Knight books.  He writes street crime tales so anyone wanting to see the big coloful badguys are going to be upset, but with that said, it's a much more grounded Batman and I like that for my taste.
January 5, 2010 9:31 pm TheNextChampion, you are always so negative about Mike Benson.  Sucide Kings was very good.  You are also judging Adam Glass who's book you have yet to read.  A lot of people really liked Benson's Moon Knight.  Stop being such a hater.
December 5, 2009 1:13 am I agree.  Benson was a star on Suicide Kings.  You guys are knocking the first issue of Deadpool I believe the guy wrote.  His Moon Knight and Punisher Max books were VERY good.  Don't be such haters.  The Zapata Brothers are fun characters too, give it a shot.   There are MANY worst Marvel writers out there.  Benson has talent.

I'll try again.  I strongly disagree with the review above.  Benson is one of the better Deadpool writers, give SUICIDE KINGS a read and judge for yourself.  I wasn't crazy about GAME OF DEATH, but his Team-Up is actually very good, funny and there is good chemistry between Deadpool and The Zapata Brothers, who are hilarious.   I thought this Team-Up was funnier than the last one too.  If you want to read more Zapata Brothers check out Benson's DOWN SOUTH arc.

October 14, 2009 4:23 pm Mike Benson and Damian Scott's story was VERY good.
September 30, 2009 8:57 pm Give credit where due.   The second story was Mike Benson and Tomm Coker and it was the bomb!  Benson is making a name for himself.  I also agree, the Hickman story was very good too.
May 29, 2009 8:49 pm I agree, get Moon Knight back to NYC, but I have been enjoying Benson's DOWN SOUTH arc.
May 29, 2009 8:35 pm First off you can't deny the dialogue is written well.  What I felt compelling was the ending to the Moon Knight drug lord story as a whole.  It was a fun ride.  That house of horrors was pretty cool and how can you not love Moon Knight using someone's decapitated head as a weapon.  I liked it.  Is it the end all, no, but in no way is it a 1.  I'd give it a 4.

This is not a fair review.  Let's start with the art.  Jefte Palo totally delivered in bringing a fresh look to the book.  And Benson absolutely delivered with a hard-hitting compelling tale that wraps up in a satisfactory conclusion.  Benson writes excellent gritty dialogue and it was a fun read that will be even better in trade form.

April 16, 2009 11:05 pm I really am enjoying Benson's "Down South" arc.  He's a good writer and Jefte Palo is perfect fit for the book.  I'm always surprised more people are not giving Moon Knight a shot.
