Not a big week for me. I've just got Captain America, Amazing Spider-Man, and Robin (which I'm just now picking back up, so we'll see how it goes).

Bonus: Ask me in a few weeks about beer. As for juice, I've always like Cran-Rasberry for some reason. Usually I'll just drink water or milk though.

I was a big fan of New X-Men, and seeing that picture of Pixie makes me sick to my stomach. How is this man allowed to keep working. Pornography? Seriously? Shouldn't Marvel have fired him or relegated him only to the crappiest of crappy books by now?

On the flipside, I don't mind Fraction being on the book. Hopefully it's liven up a dialogue a little bit, since I found Brubaker's good, but a little dry.

The only thing I have that I haven't read is Watchman, which has been sitting on my shelf for over a year waiting to be picked up. At first I put a self-imposed ban on buying new trades until I had read it, but then Kingdom Come and Batman Year One somehow wound up on my shelf. I'm hoping to get to reading Watchman over spring break. Wish me luck.

Yeah, that's what I was talking about. I guess we should place more blame on Cassady than Brubaker, though. Astonishing would have finished like two years ago if he could do a monthly book. But I forgive him because his art is so nice.

March 5, 2008 4:18 pm This was my first time buying Jonah Hex in a long while, and I have to say this is the worst issue of it I've ever read. The art was pretty much incomprehinsible, and the large potions with no dialogue or narration just expounded the problem. I'll probably still pick up the next issue, considering the rotating artists, but at least I know to steer clear of this Rafa Gares guy from now on.

I'm surprised nobody has mentioned that this book completely spoiled the end of Astonishing. Not that the ending isn't predicable, considering Whedon, but I'm still kinda ticked at the editorial oversight.

 Good book otherwise.
