January 5, 2011 5:20 pm Is Usagi Yojimbo a series worth checking out?  I seem to remember Josh saying that he read it for a while, but then stopped because nothing really happened storywise.
December 1, 2010 8:18 am If this improves the quality of the dialogue, I'm all for it.  There are at least a few times every episode where I literally cringe because of cheeseball dialogue.

Anyone paying attention to Josh's comments in recent months could see this coming.  I have to agree that it is aggravating as all hell to read the same kind of negative throwaway comments over and over.  (I'll go on record as saying I HATE the shit out of "MEH!" too.)

Sometimes, I wonder why intelligent discourse on ANY subject is hard to come by.  My theory is that as a society we generally opt for the convenient solution when presented with an obstacle, problem or challenging question.  This trickles all the way down to criticism of comics, movies, books, television shows, etc.  Rather than put forth some effort to explain an opinion, people spit out catch phrases or other regurgitated BS.  Unfortunately, a lot of that is negative garbage that only serves to create a poisonous atmosphere.

September 15, 2010 9:29 pm Josh, are the Powers hardcovers good -- design wise?  I was thinking of picking them up, but I've read that a chunk of the art/word balloons on each page is lost in the gutters.
July 14, 2010 11:52 am What is so great about American Vampire?  I strayed away from it as I'm not King fan and the vampire genre is pretty stale.  I'm interested to hear some opinions.

This is issue was so satisfying.  I didn't anticipate much of what happened in it either.

I can't wait to see what happens next issue! Red Crow better come out of this alive.

I have high hopes for this book, but I find it incredibly boring so far.  It seems to me that Lemire is treading old ground here (a protector and the vulnerable companion facing off against all comers).  The characterization has been very bland.  The issues read incredibly fast.  This is probably due to the fact that there isn't much dialogue and his art is sparse (not a lot of detail to take in).

I also agree with Conor and a few others that the coloring on this book isn't doing Lemire's art justice.

August 12, 2009 9:38 am Yea, the Robinson interview was a lot more smooth this time around.  He still seems pretty standoffish, but Josh did an awesome job of rolling with it.  Thumbs up to Mr. Flanagan.
