September 2, 2013 5:43 pm Wow. This news has me stunned. I'll really miss the daily content and the regular features. Thank you so much to everyone involved for your hard work and dedication to the comic book cause. You have pointed me in the direction of so much great writing and fantastic art over the past couple of years since my first visit here. And thank you for providing a place for people to come and talk/argue about this medium that we all love so much. Even if I didn't necessarily get involved in the discussions it was always fun to eavesdrop! Thanks again, and enjoy reading comics, now you'll have more time!
August 30, 2013 5:52 pm @LeviHunt15 My comment was posted just after yours and it echoes your sentiments about Marvel. They have so many great books and I think Marvel Now was a lesson in how to do a successful relaunch.
August 30, 2013 5:46 pm Well I can't resist a list. I've said this so many times but there really is so many great books coming out each week. It is a great time to be a comic book fan. No order: Saga Thor: God of Thunder Hawkeye Daredevil The Wake Why are we only allowed five?! It's too hard. On a different day I could have Mind MGMT, Fatale, The Massive, Young Avengers, Archer & Armstrong, Batman, The Private Eye, Superior Foes of Spiderman, Trillium (even one issue in!). I used to be a DC guy but Marvel is putting out better books at the moment. And Image is still killing it.
August 24, 2013 6:48 pm Firstly, I'm loving the discussion on here, mainly because it is reasoned and thoughtful rather than hysterical and ignorant as it has largely been on Twitter and other forums. Personally I like Ben Affleck and think he will do the role justice. I think people have their own idea of who would be the perfect embodiment of their favorite character, and it is usually impossible to fulfill because that actor doesn't exist. I'm interested to know, apart from Jon Hamm, Karl Urban and Josh Brolin, who would have been a better choice? Given a couple of people have said they have a lot of actors preferable to Affleck. Who are they?
March 29, 2013 5:38 pm Lots of great sketches this week. Loving Scalera as usual. And as for Murphy's Apocalypse Now - just amazing.
February 8, 2013 4:42 pm Oh man. What a fantastic selection of beautiful art. I can't get that sketch of Mikey out of my head. Such a heartbreakingly sad, imploring look on his face. I look at it and see Leo, Donnie, and Raph just about to come round the corner laughing and joking. Mikey puts a smile on his face because he doesn't want to burden his buddies with whatever it is that is troubling him. But his eyes. His eyes still betray his sadness. If you look closely enough.
January 18, 2013 7:03 pm Congratulations Ron. A gig at Image is way cool! Congratulations Paul. Looking forward to more of your heart articles and picks of the week.
November 22, 2012 3:57 pm Great article. Lovely sentiments from all. I'm thankful that I discovered iFanboy about the same time I started reading comics in a big way again. This community adds so much to my experience of reading and enjoying comics and I'm thankful for its existence every day. Happy holidays to everyone stateside. Hope you have lots of fun.
October 19, 2012 2:41 pm Great stuff as ever. Scalera impresses every time. I love his sketches!
August 3, 2012 7:18 pm Oh, I'm a little freaked out. Just watched The Shining and as the final, frozen Jack Nicholson scene came on the screen I scrolled down to the Jack Torrance sketch. Arrgh! Awesome sketches as usual. Loving Iggy Pop and Thanos and Bluestreak and Beast and The Jackalope and.....oh I love them all!
