It’s almost impossible, and a little foolish, to judge “Wednesday Comics” in the same way as any other comic. I…

I’m sure that others will have much more to say with regards to Final Crisis, but I thought I’d offer…

November 17, 2010 4:58 pm Could anyone else not resist the urge to whisper "Batman Incorporated" a la Metallica's "Damage, Inc." while reading this, or am I the only one?
November 17, 2010 4:43 pm Yeah, padding the page count with sketches is usually pretty lame, but here we get six pages of Morrison's script which, in my opinion, totally justifies the extra buck.

This was fantastic and a really satisfying ending to all of Morrison's Batman work.

I can understand how people find it confusing, but this style of storytelling has been Morrison's M.O. since Final Crisis: he is telling the story thematically, not necessarily in a straight, linear narrative. I think David Uzumeri's annotations over at Comics Alliance have been invaluable to not just understanding, but also enjoying all the complexity of this series: http://www.comicsalliance.com/2010/11/10/return-of-bruce-wayne-6-annotations/

November 5, 2010 9:15 am I'm embarrassed how long it took me to notice the Flash in that JLA sketch.
November 1, 2010 3:30 pm I forgot to have my store drop this for me, so unless this issue is particularly interesting, it will be my last.

I'm excited for Action, Fantastic Four, and the return of Incognito. Secret Avengers and Zantanna are make-or-break issues for me this week.

I like Sweet Tarts and Bottle Caps, because they are candies you only really see around Halloween: they're a treat. Almond Joys and Pay Day bars, however, are always awful.

October 18, 2010 12:50 pm It's clear from this as well as the few costume designs we've seen that they are aiming for a more "sci-fi/space opera" that traditional superhero aesthetic, which I think makes more sense. Overall, I like it.
October 5, 2010 10:05 pm Two more issues. #29 is solicited for November with Amy Reeder on art duties. Given DC is trying to bring the Vertigo and DCU lines closer together, I'm surprised this was cancelled since it did a nice job of incorporating DC's magical characters (and even J'onn J'onzz) into it's stories. Oh well.
October 4, 2010 9:02 pm I'm gonna try to reserve judgment until I see the finished product, but the last thing a Superman movie needs is a bland nu-grunge soundtrack and slo-motion action scenes. Seriously, who thinks that slowing down action makes it more exciting? Alright, I'll bite my tounge and hope for the best...
July 12, 2010 5:01 pm This may be interesting, but Ross's stiff, elaborate art seems like the antithesis to Kirby's powerful and kinetic style.
