Okay.... okay. Ok. I think I get what Perez was going for, sort of a Zodiac style data collection narrative device. Like how a news report would be formed from various interviews and research and pieces of evidence and sources. Because Clark is a reporter. There were about 5 or 6 viewpoints expressed through caption boxes. The only problem for me is that the print article boxes described EXACTLY what we are seeing in every panel. This slowwws down the reading speed tremendously. Which is fine. I guess. If there wasn't a narration box a character would literally say: "Yes Superman is lifting the globe on the cover, can you believe it??" Maybe it's because he's an artist but some narrative frision or interest could be generated if maybe the Bill O'Reilly anchor described *his* take on the events occuring and we saw something different being "on the scene". It was just a strange experience to read this comic. Oh and DC should change New52 to Last Panel Sex. The art was pretty solid, reminded me of 90s Superman art a la Jurgens and Immonen. A lot of pages looked similar though upon first glance, like Superman a lot of fire. Kind of bewildering. Need to reread this and figure out. Nitpick but it would be nice if Clark and Superman had different caption boxes, like the S and then a pair of glasses over beige.
