Following Snyder, and having Snyder follow you is hard place to be in the Bat scheme of things. I was not a huge fan of Daniels Batman series, but it was good enough to keep me reading. I picked this up more out of loyalty to Bat books than anything else. What I found inside was one of the biggest surprises in comics this year. It appears to me that Tony S. should have always been writing darker, matured themed books. This was by far my favorite of issues so far. I couldn’t really tell you what was so special about Tec#1. Joker is the Joker, Bruce is Bruce, Gordon seems a little edgyier. Maybe we have been deprived of a regular old Bruce VS. Joker hoedown in the recent Morrison epic, Dick transformation, and Snyder masterpiece. Either way it’s good to see Bruce focused on Gotham, and villains and not on the Batman Inc. No offense Grant Morrisson.
