The art in Batwoman is going to make it difficult for this series to really rub me wrong any time soon. Though #2 is a little disappointing after such an incredible #1, there’s still a lot to like. Lots of nice visuals, interesting layouts, and sharp character writing.

This ish does not feel slight but nor does it feel particularly well-paced. There’s a bit of character stuff going on, but mostly this issue just treads water (heh) on the plots from the first while introducing only a few minor (and possibly unrelated?) new threads that just aren’t nearly as interesting as the stuff that was already going on.

Then again, that just makes me want Batwoman #3 all the more.
