Once again, this turns into a great little noir story. We have all the classic elements of noir — the…

November 2, 2011 1:53 pm I'm mostly a generalist, knowing a little bit about many things. But my areas of passion are: Comics Human history Weight training (Not power lifting per se, and not bodybuilding) Writing Table-top role-playing games And while I think of myself as not being anywhere NEAR educated enough to say that the sciences are a geeky passion of mine, I find that what I know falls outside the general knowledge of my coworkers.
December 13, 2010 12:37 pm I *tried* to re-read Psi-Force and DP7 a couple years back.  I really did.

And for the why -- New Avengers is the team I started reading Avengers for.  Disassembled was the first Avengers story I read. I cannot bring myself to care about the five white guys who started Avengers unless they are being secret boyfriends on an Asgardian camping trip -- and, even then, I skip all the bits with Thor, who is the most uninteresting-to-me Avenger in the history of ever.  Hank Pym is more interesting than that guy, and I kinda think Pym should be put up against a wall and shot.  New Avengers has the only Avengers I want to read about-- Jess, Carol, Jess, and Luke, with side commentary from Peter.

Avengers Academy is my second pick because it's got diversity and all the smaller, side characters that make the Marvel U interesting

Scarlet Witch, no contest.

1. She's extremely self-absorbed, so much so that she qualifies as not-sane.

2. She has a will strong enough to reshape reality and have it last a VERY long time.

3. She knows what she wants.

4. Her powers read the script!

Wanda would banish Zatanna, get Clint back, and have kids.  Whether Clint wanted them or not.  (He wouldn't remember ever not wanting them, you understand.)  If Zatanna showed up again, she'd probably end up as their nanny.

October 30, 2009 9:04 am I completely agree.  :)  Also, dude, Jessica really CAN fly when she's upset enough!
October 22, 2009 9:35 am I completely agree on all counts.  I never read Gen X, I loathed that era of comics, and I still love what Carey is doing with these characters!  Also, Dr. Nemesis is always, always awesome.
