March 27, 2013 7:06 pm Considering all the glorious things they could have mined from the Weapon Plus program in Origins, the general fanboy consensus was that X Men Origins: Wolverine a a colossal disappointment, shouldn't have really even been made. Having said that, this looks pretty awesome; solid director, solid script, solid lead. Maybe even a solid villain? The flying Wolverine with claws outstretched had me in goosebumps. Looking forward to seeing how Hugh Jackman has learnt from his mistake if anything
March 10, 2013 7:23 pm Bit disappointed you didn't mention Avengers 7.That book has more of a Watchmen feel than Sex, especially the last two issues has given it more a Dr Manhatten vibe. The bi weekly nature only adds to it and this is almost always at the top of my stack, although New Avengers is slightly better as it seems more focused.I also love looking at the credits page to see which characters will be featured in each issue. Dropping Green Arrow already, sorry Conor ,gave it an issue but Hawkeye is superior in every way; better art and a great sense of humour that totally works with the tone, not unlike Mark Waid's early Daredevil issues. The art in Green Arrow is just too grim and like Josh said previously, copying the highlighting of the colour green as opposed to purple, but it was so blatant in this issue it left a bad taste in my mouth. It's tragic considering I more than lean DC. I enjoyed All New XMen but how many times are the old team gonna have the debate about staying or going? Let the past Angel go home if he wants, although that scene with the two Angels fighting was great
February 24, 2013 3:09 pm Great episode. Really happy Josh made this his POW. I urge all of the IFanboy community to pick up the new trades, it was an awesome book. Although Josh is right that it is formulaic in that you know John will win, but the fun has always been trying to figure out what aces John has up his sleeve, the interesting twists in the story were always what those aces cost. I hate horror and my favourite comic was a horror comic, that is how good this book was. Incandescent it's ending. Saga was just awesome again, as per usual.
February 13, 2013 12:50 pm Great article. Simply put, it's glory and worship vs the safety and well being of those you love. Also, your power level and financial status should play a crucial role in your decision.
February 3, 2013 6:43 pm I wish the Animation Braintrust would also review the Marvel animated features as well. Paul well done, Ron's a hard act to follow but if you keep the energy high you'll do great. It's funny how you guys say Morrison always goes global with everything, just re reading the new xmen omnibus and I was thinking exactly the same thing the other day. Love Chris Burnham's art, gorgeous and the main reason I'm still buying Batman Incorporated. He needs to revamp a c list character like The Atom or Plasticman. I'd buy that book.
January 4, 2013 3:08 pm Comprehensive stuff. Saga #4 was an exceptional issue
December 30, 2012 5:41 pm I loved Brick. One answer still eludes me, who actually kills Emily? You ultimately find out who is responsible but who actually killed her?
December 30, 2012 5:36 pm Just had the worst day of my life and seeing this up, I nearly cried tears of joy. Thanks for the extra long episode guys, this is gonna pull me back from the brink and never ever stop this show, its too important. Skyfall sucked, the first twenty minutes were awesome but the last act was abysmal. The head of MI6 gets nearly assassinated and so hides with one agent and a shotgun in a derelict manor in the middle of nowhere Scotland? And James Bond born Scottish? Goldeneye has a better execution of premise, a special agent going rogue, but because it is another 00 it has more of a super villain quality to it that I think Mendes was going for but didn't pull of because the character wasn't defined at all. I wish they had explored the cyber terrorism aspect of it a bit more. End of second act should have been Judi Dench dead after the storming of the hearings. Third act Bond goes after Bardem Also, what are your final thoughts on The Dark Knight Rises? I'm assuming you got the Blu-ray?
December 24, 2012 7:43 pm Karen Berger left Vertigo over Hellblazer? What's the story there Josh?
December 2, 2012 7:33 pm Josh is so right at 44:49. The Who Is Scorpio? arc of Jim Steranko's Nick Fury run has been out of print for years. Same goes for Marvelman. How else am I supposed to get it without paying through the nose? However Josh is wrong about Jason Statham who speaks with a cockney accent as opposed to scouse. Reading Hellblazer I hear a cockney one too though, I think it just works better. I also highly recommend watching the Football Factory, after that you will be able to tell which is which.
