Another fantastic issue, this is the one book I feel that Geoff Johns is doing right. He has slowly built…

January 16, 2017 2:12 pm @Ron, the Will Smith wide brimmed 'pimp' hat was lifted from the Deadshot short in the Batman Gotham Knight DVD. In it, he is reimagined as an upper crust aristocrat with a dandy look. @Conor I had no problems with Leto's take on the Joker, you guys still haven't read the Azzarello and Bermejo OGN, which is depressing as it is a key Joker text. He is basically an unhinged crime boss in that book, rather than a supervillain/agent of chaos. While his look is clearly ott, there are certain shots where Leto smiles, not laughs, where he physically looks exactly like the comic. It's a shame that Warner Bros butchered his performance, as he has nothing of any substance to do in the movie, but nevertheless he is compelling when he is onscreen. Please articulate your critiques more substantially next time as we're still not sure why you didn't like 'everything'. The 1 being Electro is another IFanboy classic
December 11, 2016 6:15 pm I fully expect Gomorrah season 2 and Black Mirror season 3 to be included in the TV segment of the annual all year media wrap up show. If not, you guys are wasting your time not watching the right programmes
November 20, 2016 3:26 pm One useless superpower that must be included is the ability to understand, word for word, whatever Frankie Carbone is saying
November 1, 2016 12:47 pm Just out of curiosity, when will be able to have all the iFanboy video shows uploaded to the dedicated YouTube channel?
October 30, 2016 3:03 pm Undoubtedly the weakest of the Marvel Netflix series. I think they set the tone early, unlike Jessica Jones and Daredevil, the show starts of ploddingly and takes a while to find its groove. I think both Ron and Conor hit the nail on the head, the major problem were the villains. Killgrave and Wilson Fisk were both super powered, albeit in muted ways. Cottonmouth only fires an RPG, that is his only badass moment, the rest of the time he is moaning, helpless and is never able to mount even a half decent offensive. I think if they incorporated some of his comic book powers, such as his speciality with poison, it would have show him capable in his villainy and raised the stakes. Although Diamondback was hammy, you at least believed he was a credible threat. Shades was definitely one of the highlights, as was the origin episode and the Mama Mabel flashback. Music was great, but all in all, the weakest so far.
September 19, 2016 12:34 pm Check out Batman: Broken City (written by Brian Azzarello) for some sweet Eduardo Risso art. The story is an incredibly dark, down to earth crime noir story
August 11, 2016 5:39 am I think the gangster iteration that they were going for with Jared Leto's performance was taken from Azzerello and Bermejo's 'Joker' OGN, where the portrayal is one more grounded in that of a crime boss, albeit completely unhinged. However the look there was more in line with the scruffy, chelsea grinned appearance that Heath Ledger sported. I don't mind his portrayal, I thought it was different, not necessarily bad. They just didnt give him enough to do. It's interesting to see that a moviegoer is now suing the film for false advertising because the scenes that were used in the trailer were cut. I think that is what pisses us all, the studio meddling. All in all another subpar to terrible offering from Warner Brothers. Hopefully they will give Geoff Johns control in the same way they now give Kevin Feige. I am not holding my breath though.
July 26, 2016 1:18 pm I have said it before and I will say it again- forget floppy single issue comics, people are starting to sell off their trades. I sold all my collection except for 10 seminal titles (Killing Joke, Watchmen, The Dark Knight Returns, Superman Red Son etc.) With a 128GB Ipad and 3TB containing complete golden age to modern age uninterrupted runs, I am spoilt for choice with everything. I can walk around with an entire library now including my EC Comics, old Charlton as well as smaller and now defunct publishers. I also have tons more room in my house. I believe in the next couple of years publishers will have to move to hardbacks and omnibus' to entice customers to buy paper, sell your trades while you can get some money for them.
April 23, 2016 9:18 pm Before I even begin, 3 evergreen ifanboy memes that need to be uttered in every podcast. 1. JESSICAAA (in a norf landaan acent) 2. VADER DOWNN 3. Only for voicemails/emails- I have thought about X for Y
February 15, 2016 8:47 am What was Conor going to say about Stan Lee in the strip club? You gotta tell us, I have thought about nothing else since!
