I have to admit, I was really excited read Batman & Robin #1 and Red Robin #1.  Both of those books were pretty good but this week's new Batman #1 tops them all.

I am not exactly super familiar with this Firefly dude.  I think he might make a good sidekick to the Human Flame from the Final Crisis Aftermath books.  It was pretty cool how can light people up.  I thought the dude who stamps the word "ABUSE" into people's heads was really cool.  I can't wait to read more of that character.

I'm glad to see that Tommy Elliot is still in the picture.  I think he will probably escape from his confines soon.  Hush and Heart Of Hush are two of my favorite Batman arcs of all time.  I think this should make for a little more interesting storytelling then Professor Pyg or whatever Morrison's new arc is about.  Don't get me wrong, I love Morrison's take on Batman, but Paul Dini's run on Detective is the ACTUAL run that got me not only reading about the Dark Knight once again, but also finally beginning to read comics again after a 15 year absence. 

I hope Dini stays on this book until he dies.  Paul Dini might have a silly sounding name but he totally kicks ass at writing good pulp featuring Batman.  I hope he can stick with this same artist too.  I don't know much about artists, but I am pretty sure this is the same guy Dini was doing his run on Detective with.  They make a good team.

I'm not particularly sure why they took Dini off of Detective and then made a totally different Batman monthly title for him to write instead.  Why did DC just keep him where he was and have Batwoman start her own series?  It makes no sense to me, but oh well.  I got the variant cover for this issue and it's a #1, that kool enough for me.

I saw the preview for Gotham City Sirens on www.majorspoilers.com.  I think there is probably another artist out there who could draw the ladies of Gotham City a little bit more elegantly, but what little bit of a story I got to read out of it was quite fun.  I already got to see that Poison Ivy drugged up The Riddler and conquered his living quarters.  I can't wait to see how that pans out too.
