Comments

  1. Ron, I share your pain about the X-Men jobbing. Though, I did know they would be losing the moment the event was announced.

  2. dkbrain dkbrain says:

The sponsors link didn’t function on my computer. You may want to double check.

  3. “I don’t want to read it till I die.”

That just made me really depressed as a comic fan….Cause I’ll be reading Batman till I die.

  4. edward says:

Is the phrase Stormtroopers Hitting the Ground?

  5. CountAbyss CountAbyss says:

Ya know, I really enjoyed this particular episode. I’ve been feeling burnt out on comics myself as well, so that advice really did help ease my mind. Thanks guys!

  6. JDC JDC says:

I nearly unleashed the Phoenix Force while listening to Ron talk about Kun Lun.

  7. Cooper Cooper says:

Where do you guys stand RE: Respect for women?

    • Josh Flanagan Josh Flanagan (@jaflanagan) says:

      We’re about that.

    • Gerry Lopez Gerry Lopez says:

So I had a completely ridiculous thought about AvX and movie rights to the X-Men. What if, AVX is a plan to poison X-Men brand so Fox loses money on the movies and allows Disney to buy them back? Yeah, it’s ridiculous, I know. But starting an insane internet conspiracy theory was on my bucket list and this seemed like a good time to check it off.

    • Gerry Lopez Gerry Lopez says:

clearly this wasn’t supposed to be a response to the respect for women thing. . . .

  8. TurdSandwich TurdSandwich says:

Hey guys, thanks for including my review. It’s cool to be featured on the show, even if our views on the book were different. I definitely agree with you regarding the Omega Effect crossover and Flash, I’ve been digging both of those stories/art.

What’d you guys think of Popeye? I picked it up based on nostalgia (and Conor’s light week recommendation), and had a blast reading it.

  9. Mart Mart says:

Ah chaps, we don’t need big fridges in the UK, our girlfriends are smaller.

  10. mrlogical mrlogical says:

Started listening to MATES about two weeks ago, and the dawning realization that you guys had been making jokes about it for months and months now added another level to the experience.

  11. diebenny diebenny says:

*SNOB MOMENT* So i’m flipping channels this morning and I flip past VH1. That damn Gotye song is playing and it reminds me of the podcast and this thought: I’ma assume you guys put that on there purely to spite me, because you can’t reeeeally like it… right? Please say I’m right. Oh no, I’m wrong. N-n-noooOOOOO!!!!

*/SNOB MOMENT* Nah, dudes. It’s cool. People like what they like blabh blabh blah.
