January 25, 2016 5:00 pm I always thought the closet was all of Wanda's memories that she had forgotten. So after Clint's romp with Wanda who had previously obliterated him he realized that the old Wanda could come back whenever and that's why he left so quickly.
January 19, 2016 11:29 am I sort of liked Cyclop's heel turn. It showed he has balls. And I would probably turn against Prof X if he jerked me around the way X has jerked Cyclops around for nearly 50 years. I stand with Scott Summers. Everytime I read Huck i just think that Mark Miller should be writing Captain America or Superman. He is doing great in Image and I love starlight and Huck but both of those comics need that expert touch right now. Bendis and Aaron are great for Marvel and they are doing great stuff but I'd like to see different geniuses working with the big characters. I'd love to see an Avengers story written by Vaughn, or a Green lantern story by Brubaker.
December 14, 2015 3:04 pm I'm not going to pick a 5 but I think Jason Aaron, Brian K Vaughn, Matt Fraction, Ed Brubaker, and Keiran Gillan deserve big hugs and huge props for everything amazing they brought to the world this year. I pick everything all 5 wrote for the year.
December 14, 2015 3:02 pm For Kyla, I don't remember when the run stopped but I really liked Red Lanterns for a while. I thought it was pretty readable and easy to jump in. DC is really incongruous. They almost need to just break it into 5 different non interconnected worlds to make it at all interesting. And wow have they destroyed Flash, Aquaman, and Green Arrow. 3 books that when I was in high school were daily reads. I am super not looking forward to those movies at all (Maybe Suicide Squad a little bit) Any of the Gotham Universe books though are decent imo, Grayson, Bat Girl, Robins, and Snyder Capullo batman are all books I read or will read in trades. Marvel you have a few decent star Wars books, obviously Ms. marvel. I think give Hickman's Avengers another chance, I loved Waids run on Daredevil, Everything Aaron, And get the trade for Aja and Fraction's Hawkeye imo it was the best "Hero" Comic all year.
December 14, 2015 2:57 pm Can I echo your sentiments. I just started listening to the show earlier this year and now I can't make my drive to work in on Monday without it. It made my summer job so much more bearable. I downloaded a different comic pod cast to fill the gap between sundays and I literally wanted to throw my phone. You guys are great together, great on the radio and have a ton of knowledge. I feel like I'm at my local comicbook store (I don't have a very good one) and bantering with everyone for an hour every week and it has totally reinvigorated my love of the art form. Thanks for being awesome
December 9, 2015 1:42 pm I agree with your assessment of the show. Simpson's turn was weird and I was unprepared for it. The main arc and the main actors were amazing and they carried the show but every side arc was a labor to get through. I feel like someone should come out with an edit and take out all side stories except for how they directly relate to the main arc. I feel like it would be about 4 hours long. Daredevil's side stories made me care more, were shorter, and paid off harder. I Don't know if Simpson will come back for DD2 but I think IGH will be the villain for the Defenders and Luke Cage. I'd rather not have a Jones season 2 and just do a Heroes For Hire with Wing, Knight, Jones, Luke, and Danny. This way they wouldn't have to stretch Jones into another 13 episodes. You could have her side stories and what not. And They could actually have someone steal Killgrave's blood or brain take his power and turn purple and have Heroes for Hire battle that at some point.
December 9, 2015 1:37 pm The Inhuman thing doesn't bother me at all. It only gets to comic purists and I never had much invested in the X-men at all to be honest. I like Claremonts run for just sci fi fantasy but I never saw them as important to the fabric of the Marvel Universe the way some do.
December 7, 2015 7:45 pm It's Bendis so unlike Secret War this might make sense and have an ending. it also makes sense because of Sam Wilson's disenfranchisement right now. I hope it ties into the current Anti-Muslim sentiment or the war on terror stuff to make it a bit more poignant.
December 7, 2015 1:25 pm I think you have to like separate them into different genre's because There's a big different between say Aaron's Thor and Airboy in what they are actually asking from their readers. I'd say "Real World Comic" - Southern Bastards or Fadeout Super Hero Comic- Fraction Aja on Hawkeye holy moly Sci Fi Fantasy- I'm partial to saga but I will say Wicked and Divine Cartoony/Comedy- Phonogram the immaterial Girl
December 7, 2015 1:21 pm I liked Josh's List i think the most, My fallbacks are always Brian K Vaughn and Ed Brubaker and both had great years. Definitely Aaron is Number 1. Next year We'll all be talking about Tom King though. And No one says Hickman? What about Secret Wars? (That's called sarcasm)
