December 1, 2012 12:29 pm This is consistently my favorite title and a must read! Ever since Jeff Lamire took over this book has taken off and Mikel Janin art(even though he is taking this issue off after the annual) is by far the best and most detailed in all of comics. Looking forward to see where Johnny and his band of misfit toys end up and extremely intrigued about the upcoming Trinity War, which got a nice little tease this issue. Is it me or has Constantine become the central character of the DCU?
September 17, 2012 6:03 pm I get so annoyed by people who wanna bash movies because it wasn't what they wanted it to be. Constantine was an excellent movie and Keanu Reaves, who's a great actor, played the role very well. People wanna throw their tempertantrums because he's not blond or British, I say so what? If you wanted it to be exactly panel for panel like the comic then just read the damn comic. Just because changes are made doesn't mean the movie sucks. These are probably people that probably hate the Batman trilogy because Gary Oldman doesn't have red hair so he's a terrible commish or Heath Leadger didn't look like the Joker in the cartoon so he was bad at it. Honestly if they make anything new that Constantine i'd rather they make a sequel to the movie with Keanu cause he was great and i'd love to see him do it again.
September 7, 2012 1:32 pm I think there were better panels in Punisher, but for me the best panel was in Deadpool...the "I am the Human Flamethrower!!!!!!", that was laugh out loud hilarious.
August 2, 2012 5:32 pm I agree with BabyFranlin, this was an interesting "one shot" story but it didn't really amount to anything. He is never in costume and never uses his skill, bow and arrow. For a new series it has a definate mini series feel to it. Most new series have a jumping off point like something happening to the character and its further explored but this seems pointless. I will say that I think Gambit, which comes out next week, will be a better and more important series, and in the end longer lasting. James Asmus has me hooked and excited from the interviews i've seen. I think Marvel would rather Hawkeye do better though so it can promote the character to eventually get his own solo movie.Thats why they are promoting it more.
May 25, 2012 6:03 pm Pick of the week!!!! Honestly this is easily the best issue of this series and I hope it stays exactly like this for the forseable future. This works on so many levels: Constantine leading a group of heroes when he has absolutely no leadership skills and no one trust him so he has to black mail his teammates to follow him, but I understand why he is put in this role bc he is the most wordly of the group even though he really doesn't do anything but make smart ass comments which is fine by me. Not to mention its already planting the seeds for the upcoming Trinity War, I found this issue so enjoyable and JL Dark, I Vampire and Hellblazer are quickly becoming my favorite titles!
April 12, 2012 8:19 am Haven't read all the new issues yet but so far this is probably my pick for pick of the week. I don't know who actually wrote the plot Rucka or Waid but going on the assumption Rucka did and Waid gave insight, I think Rucka did a genious job of writting a quick paced script that highlights each character individual strength and how these three characters compliment each other so perfectctly...Daredevil being the straight man Spidey being the clown and Punisher being the hard ass it plays so well together. And I found myself laughing out loud multiple times from Spider-Man's dialoge especially the comment about the Punishers new female partner.
April 12, 2012 8:09 am Don't understand why Detective is getting such poor reviews. I thought this last issue was an excellently written Batman story. If I was going to consider dropping a title it would be Action Comics, I mean it serves no purpose and deals with a convulated history that is impossible to understand or follow...
March 29, 2012 9:41 pm If this is an ongoing team and not just an "in between" filler story I think this book would have lots of promise and possibly replace X-Men Legacy as a must read, mainly because i'm beyond frustrating with the misuse, or lack thereof, of Gambit in all the X-Men series. He's a popular character who seems to only be used for token appearances or to seem mopey over Rogue, who is more like Kristen Stewart from Twilight than the character she used to be. I'd almost rather he move on from the X-Men and branch out with another team and most importantly another writer that knows how to write him. Bring back Scott Lobdell or Fabian Nicieza he flourished in their stories.
