  1. Scarecrow is so Fu#king scarey, freaky and just all around bad ass looking in this title, I am loving it. The artwork and story have been very good in all of the Bat-Books I must confess except for two and this is not one of those titles!! Look at that cover!! Awesome!! Come on Wednesday!!

  2. Anyone know if the new backup has anything to do with Court of Owls?

    • The Detective backup will feature Two-Face. I hope that it makes everyone forget the whole One-Face fiasco from Dark Knight, but Daniel isn’t that great of a writer.

  3. I don’t thinks so but I’m obviously looking forward to this. Tony Daniel can draw a helluva Batman!

  4. Every month that I pull this book and I’ve read it… I ask myself, what am I still buying it? I think I should drop it and put my 3.99$ on something else entirely.

  5. I keep debating weather or not to drop this off my pull list entirely, but I keep giving it second chances. Hopefully this issue doesn’t (or does) let me down to I can finally make a decision!

  6. I really like this book. I think Tony S. Daniel is doing a great job and only when held up beside Snyder’s Batman does it look anything less than a 4 plus star book.

  7. This is the weakest bat book imo and not worth $3.99 unless Tony does something exceptional with this and the court of owls next issue I’ll be giving it up.

  8. Losing interest in this title …

  9. batman and girlfriend in the same setence sounds weird to me. it seems more outa character than removing his cowl on a leveled/deserted street block to get hal to trust him.
i mean, i know people need to get laid, but he seems more like a friends with benefits type of guy. not in a gross way(if thats possible) but a mutually beneficial way. like with catwoman or something.
    just a thought.

  10. Just read this and it is a much better issue than the previous ones but there is nothing in this book about Charlotte.
Scarecrow is just trying to get rid of the competition.
    Back-up is ok.

  11. Has anyone else noticed the description information is for last months book…just curious?

  12. Looking forward to the next issue featuring Court of the Owls. this issue was ok for me but much better than Action Comics for sure!

  13. Detective Comics #8 is a standalone story, and a pretty good one if you ask me; not everything has to be a 20-part crossover. Daniel’s art is fantastic in this issue; his Catwoman is beautiful, his Batman is awesome, and his Scarecrow is über-creepy. Even his non-Poison Ivy was great.

  14. Better than I expected!

  15. This one raised my spirits about the series. The first 2 or 3 issues were great and it was one of my favorites, but then it went downhill 🙁 but I think this one was great again (not quite as good as the first ones but its getting there) and I look forward to next months!!

  16. Way better than I expected! Just when I was about to give up this comic completely, but this issue changed everything around. I’m really interested in where this story is going, plus Scarecrow looked fantastically creepy

  17. I do not understand what is going on with everyone?? This is just as good as The Batman book!! So is Batman and Robin, The Dark Knight!! The Scarecrow is really scary looking and the artwork in this title has been very good and Batman sure has his hands full in this book!! This gets a 5 from me and I think this issue in particular was a notch better this month than Batman. Which by no means is an insult to either titles in my book!! Can’t we all be happy that 80% of the Bat books are really killing it right now and as a BatFan we should all be happy..

  18. Don’t understand why Detective is getting such poor reviews. I thought this last issue was an excellently written Batman story. If I was going to consider dropping a title it would be Action Comics, I mean it serves no purpose and deals with a convulated history that is impossible to understand or follow…

  19. I’m a huge Bat-Fan but I had to drop this title this week. I NEVER drop Bat-Books. It makes me sad.

I just have the feeling that we’ve been in the Iceberg Lounge ever since Daniel took over the book.
